I just got home from work and back at it tomorrow morning. We got some snow today. Our original forecast called for flurries and mostly snow would be at the shore. It was only a couple inches but it was a pain because by thw time I left work tonight it was ice. I hope everyone is having a great night

Good Thursday MMC! I'm tired. Work was so busy as usual and then Rollins got into a giant chocolate bar I had bought for my mom for Christmas. Luckily he didn't eat anything close to all 3lbs of it but he did take a chunk out of it. Of course, he got sick a few times last night and I had to wake up. I'm giving him water and keeping an eye on him. He did something similar last December (hope this isn't a tradition). SFM glad to hear the news no your dad. I hope everyone here has a good day!

Good morning ~
Happy Thursday!
It’s going to be mostly sunny today with highs near 40, we’re currently at 27 degrees. Typical day of errands and chores. I also have plans to go shopping later this afternoon for jewelry to wear the day of the wedding. Dinner will be fried chicken with garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus. That’s about it for me. Hope everyone is well. Have a great day MMC!
xx

Ontario, Canada eh!
wow, Thursday already ! Family Christmas party this Saturday and I still have 12 loaves of raisen bread to make and fill some orders.
We have some snow overnight so it looks beautiful out there again.
Looking forward to Christmas !!
Heading out to Port Huron next Tuesday to mail out my Christmas cards as things here with Canada post are still unstable and since I have not received any cards yet I do not want mine that I am sending out to get held up. My son has some things he has to pick up as well. So we will make a day of it and stop at his favorite lunch place (Big Boy), not my choice but I can endure one lunch there for him LOL

Here's wishing you all a great day !!

I’ve been worrying about something like this would happen to you, buddy. I’ve personally seen it with my own eyes, seen what it can do to a person, that’s something that can really mess you up. Please, please, my friend, I pray now, that since the kiddos are in school, that hopefully you can find a day light job and get your body back into it’s natural rhythm.

I have you on my mind. Take care of yourself my friend, I’ll be keeping you in my prayers.

Thank you! Your thoughts and prayers mean more to me than you know! They haven't told me for sure yet, but the daylight should be mine. I don't think anyone else applied, plus, I've been up for daylight for the last several positions, but I just turned it down. The big thing, is going to be until I can get new people trained and they can replace me on night shift, I won't be able to move to daylight. Hopefully it won't be too long!

I hope you get some rest! I worked at night shift for one week to help a friend out here at work, and it was the worst week I can remember LOL.

Thanks, Brad! I think you just really have to like it. I love working nights for several reasons, but my body just doesn't anymore. I got great sleep last night - probably one of he best I've had in a really long time!

The first Christmas we had our dog, Ragmop; the family who gave her to us gave us a Gingerbread House on Christmas Eve and my family gave them one from the Pastry Monk. We broke into on New Year's Day. We continued this tradition for several years.

This year, I am giving a Gingerbread House kit to the family next door to my parents. They were the only ones allowed in on Christmas Eve to visit with mom in her bed that had been moved to the dining room. The relationships they had was good for them and my parents; their children were like grandchildren. The woman of the house was the second person in the neighbourhood to learn of my mom's passing on the 27th as she rushed over to one of the triplex units when she saw the ambulance, fire truck and police pull up.

It was hard to watch the beauty of the moment they shared with my mom and so very good for her to feel love like that; I'll never forget that moment. They had just come from the 7:00 p.m. Mass that lasted two hours. There was a heavenly presence; it seemed like a scene from a Hallmark movie.

Gingerbread always bring memories forward. Thanks for reminding me.

Stay Jolly, Everyone! :blinky:

This is such a great idea and a beautiful way to honor your mom!

Have fun with your daughter!

I bought one that was prebuilt. It went so much better than last year. Last year was the year of the house we had to put together and it was bad. The house ended up in the trash the next morning.
I think I may be almost to the halfway point of the book. I'm hoping with my crazy schedule for the rest of the week I can finish it. Have a great day with your niece! I hope you can get a lot done too

I buy a kit. I love making gingerbread, but honestly, it's just easier!

I hope you can get it figured out & get some sleep soon. That would be so hard for me to sleep when everyone else is out & about. xx

Thank you, Holiday! She ordered a bunch of blood work, but with my schedule, I'll probably have to wait until next week sometime to get it done.

What is this strange "wrapping" thing you speak of? Between my wife, son, & I the Mystery Room (a garage many decades ago) is full of promising parcels in various forms of brown packaging. -gift-

Lol! You really crack me up sometimes! I go crazy with my wrapping too! I buy special wrapping for the dogs, kids wrapping, and then special paper from Santa. Each other kids get different wrapping from him!

DD got that book when she was in early elementary school. It was cute!

The local Christmas parades were supposed to be last Saturday but were postponed until this Saturday because of rain. Now there is 90% chance of rain this Saturday. DD is in high school band & was looking forward to marching in the parade, but the instruments can't get wet. DH has two Christmas movies that are must sees for him: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation & White Christmas. We still need to watch White Christmas so we need to find a free night for three of us! I'm looking forward to our 25th wedding anniversary trip in two weeks. We're taking a few days off in Pigeon Forge. DD will spend that time between both sets of grandparents. We all need some down time from work & school, so I'll be glad for a couple of weeks of refreshment for DD. Being 13 and in middle school shouldn't be so stressful...

I hope everyone is able to find at least a little time to relax and enjoy the next three weeks---three weeks from today is Christmas Day!

25 years! Congrats! Happy early anniversary to you and your hubby! Enjoy your time away together!

Good afternoon MMC. Been suffering with a cold here that the kids caught at school and decided they need to share it with us. Wish I could stop sneezing and snorting. Stay warm

Hope you feel better soon!

Our local theater is showing it next Wednesday (sponsored by TCM), and we have tickets—-it’s going to be amazing to see it on the big screen!

That will be amazing! Enjoy!

Tonight will be Carolina's first night sleeping in her bug girl bed. I am hoping she stays in it all night. It's higher than she's used to. So far she is still laying there awake so I can't hide her elf yet. Tomorrow is my long day at work. I work from open to close and then work on Thursday morning

Hope the night went okay for her!

Good Morning, Folks.

The wait and the count goes on, as does our enjoyment of Christmas Season 2018.
Are you listening to Christmas music? Watching Christmas movies?
What about the TV specials?
There's still time, and lots of the Season left to enjoy, but the fact is, we are nearing the half way point!

The count:
Days to Christmas Day: 19
And there you have it - into the TEENS!

The chilly weather is here for a while and now the weather service says we may see a little frozen precipitation of some sort from late Saturday to possibly early Monday. There is supposed to be little if any accumulation however, as the temps are predicted to be a tad too warm.
Right now it is cloudy with a thermometer reading of 32 degrees.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everybody.
(Weekend Eve again tomorrow, you know!)

Happy Hump Day!
We received great news at my dad's appt and he does not have cancer. The lesions on his liver are benign but he is having some liver functioning issues so we have to go see a liver specialist and they should be able to control it by medication. Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes.
I have to take my daughter to the Apple Store to pick up her phone.
Hope you all have a great day!

Praise be to God! What wonderful news! Continued prayers for your father!

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

It's hasn't rained in a couple days, but there's still water everywhere. Our yard is "smooshy" and the driveway is muddy. Blech!

I'm supposed to go to Atlanta tomorrow for an overnight business trip, but we're getting the results from my MIL's cancer scan tomorrow afternoon. Nancy is pretty nervous about it, so I might change my plans and drive to Atlanta early Friday morning for the meeting. I pray she gets a good report, too!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Prayers for you guys and hope you get good news. Safe travels!
