After today there are 27 days until kitchens are filled with the wonderful smells of Thanksgiving Dinners cooking, the sound of the Thanksgiving parades on tv, the sound of football on tv and the wonderful sounds of families gathering together and asking the Lord's blessings. It's not all about eating, the day has been set aside by our government as a day of Thanksgiving.

I thought this would be a good place to start thinking about what we are thankful for this year.
--------------------------
I'm thankful that my husband, our chldren and our grandchildren are wonderful blessings of love and respect.
I'm thankful to my parents for they taught me values and discipline mixed with love and kindness.
I'm thankful for relatives and friends and my cyber friends online.
I'm thankful I live in the United States of America and thankful to my ancestors that fought and made a way for me to be able to live in this free country.

Most of all I'm thankful that Jesus Christ went to the cross and paid a debt that I could not pay, which has made all things in my life possible with peace that surpasses all understanding and the greatest gift of all "Love".

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DEAR FRIENDS.

Oh boy! I can't wait...I can almost smell it now! :family:

I am thinking about making a turkey next week. My Dad said he will carve it for me...what a guy!! :-D (he had a stroke about 11 years ago, he's retired & this gives him something to do...and he enjoys it! Thankfully he still gets around good, but would be much better if it weren't for that darn stroke!) That's one of the many things I'm thankful for...my parents, ages 79 & 80.

What a great idea!

I'm thankful:

That my DH found a job after being laid off this year.

That my sister, who typically has very troubled pregnancies, seems to be having a pretty smooth time this time around

Added to that, I'm grateful to become an aunt again sometime around Christmas...and this time it's a girl! After four boys!!

That my brother got to come home on leave this year and joined us for the fourth of July celebration.

That my employer is finally looking into getting me some insurance coverage. Yay!!

I think it's awesome to read the "thanksgivings" and I appreciate being able to share in your "thanksgivings".

I am thankful for my daughter and my family. I am thankful for much more, but I won't go in to that right now. ;)
I can't wait until Turkey Day! My turkey is already in the deep freezer waiting to feel some heat. We bought a 20lb @ 77¢ a lb. last month. :)

Courtney, wow you got a blessing. 77 cents a pound for a turkey. That's great.
I have yet to buy my turkey breast, so I'd better get busy looking.

Thanks for sharing.
