Wow! Two more weeks! Time sure does fly. For those of us here in Canada...do you have anything planned? I know I'll be taking my older 2 kids to the fireworks.
I'm usually really busy at work so I haven't made it to Ottawa or Toronto for a huge Canada Day celebration for twenty years or so.
I haven't participated in the local festivities on Canaday Day for several years, but I take in the fireworks provided they aren't rained out. Every other year, I go to the parade, years ago, I used to be on a float.
cheesy I work tomorrow, but I'm off Tuesday and back in on Wednesday.
I gathered a few clips from YouTube to share with those who are far away and not celebrating "at home" and for those who are curious to know if we are anything like Bob & Doug MacKenzie, the Trailer Park Boys or William Shatner - can finally put their minds at ease - we're more like Jim Carey meets Anne Murray.
This is a song and our former flag, I really like this song sometimes more than O' Canada.
The Maple Leaf For Ever: Written by Alexander Muir and performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
This one is for RJD who kids me plenty about the "eh" stuff.
Bob and Doug Mackenzie - Happy Canada Day, eh! Last year's 24 Anniversary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kkYhCX1uqQ
cheesy Not sure if anyone has heard it before, but there is a song performed by an Acapella group which combines the Star Spangled Banner and O Canada into one song. It was very nicely done. I think it was first shared live before a Raptors Basketball game or a hockey game, I'll try and dig up a link.
