We're way late with this...but seeing that the 2nd half is under way we aren't too late. What are your predictions now for the MLB post season?

Here's mine:
AL East -- NY Yankees
AL Central -- KC Royals
AL West -- Anaheim Angels
AL Wild Card -- Houston Astros

NL East -- Washington Nationals
NL Central -- St. Louis Cardinals
NL West -- LA Dodgers
NL Wild Card -- SF Giants

AL Champions -- Houston Astros
NL Champions -- SF Giants

World Series Champs -- SF Giants

I dedicate this prediction to Storeytime....may all your dreams come **mostly** true when it comes to the Stros...

Feel free to share your predictions below...

I really like the way you think, but I'm afraid the Braves will fall off the second half. Hopefully when the new ballpark opens in 2017, they will be a contender.

As far as the actual thread goes, I think either the Nationals, Cardinals, or Giants will win the World Series.

You have to see the 'Stros everyday, get into their chemistry, clubhouse atmosphere, the way anybody up and down the lineup on any given day is the hero of the game to really get why I pick this as their year; not just as a fan, but as an observer of what's happening there. It's a year kind of like the miracle Mets.

It has been hard to watch them this year, I've been a diehard since the day I was born and I can't make it through whole game. They are a pitiful dumpster fire this year.

1985 repeat, Royals d. Cardinals in 7.

I had the honor of attending 4 playoff games last year in the Royals magical season. Would love to see them win one more game this season. :)

I have heard rumors from the press that they may be looking at Dave Dombrowski to possibly replace Cherrington. Don't know how true they are though.

Should be an interesting postseason. I really don't have a good feel for who's going to win this year. I think Toronto may be the favorite in the AL. I could see the Dodgers or Mets going in the NL.

Well our picks didn't do to well. But it will be a fun post season. Just glad the Dodgers didn't make it through.

Yeah I'm a Yankees fan so I feel bad for Mattingly but it seems like he hasn't really made for a great manager. How many great ex players really turn into great managers though? Not many.

Actually, there are a LOT of former players who ended being great managers. Look at what Matheny has done in St. Louis. Bruce Bochy in SF is a former catcher and he's headed to the Hall of Fame.

Heck, just looking at the Yankees you've got a whole history of former players who were great managers. Casey Stengel was 100 times the manager than a player. Yogi was a pretty decent manager, though Steinbrenner surely mistreated him. Billy Martin was heck of a manager when he wasn't insane.

If you go back through out MLB history you'll see plenty of former players who made both incredible -- and lousy -- managers.

Mattingly is a better manager that he's shown in LA simply because that bloat LA payroll is as close to a primadonna team of the 1970s era Yankees that you can get. It's been proven time and again money doesn't win you championships. What Mattingly needs are more players like Buster Posey and Yadier Molina and, yes, Derek Jeter. What he has is a bunch of babies like Yasiel Puig.
