There were two special, long-time Santa events in our small town in downstate NY. It was so much fun to take my kids to them when they were young (they are 33 and 24 now). The village would sponsor a breakfast with Santa event in early December. Kids would enjoy a free breakfast and then have their photo taken with Mr and Mrs Claus (also free). The second event was the Santa train sponsored by the local American Legion, It was actually a small decorated bus that made scheduled stops all over town. The kids would line up to receive a bag full of little trinkets from Santa. Both events still are celebrated there today!
