Happy Saturday Morning! I just decided to try to start a little thread where once a week I'll post about my Saturday morning. Hey I love every day as much as I can. I love Fridays of course. I love Sundays too. But something special happens on Saturday mornings for me. It just is such an amazing feeling. It's almost like a holiday to me every week. I guess after a long work week there's something special about Saturday mornings. I go to Dunkin to get breakfast every Saturday. Today I'm getting a big iced coffee and an apple fritter. I sit here peacefully at my computer, relaxing, watching cartoons like a kid and having my breakfast. Then I go for my favorite run of the week through town and also do some errands. I really love Saturday mornings the most by far. What about you? Any thoughts on Saturday mornings? And stay tuned because I'll try to post in this thread every Saturday morning with some interesting questions, thoughts, polls and more as we go along. Let me know what you think of Saturday mornings overall on the FIRST Saturday morning of the BERS!

Ah, Saturday morning. The best by far....

Typically, I get up early and have coffee in silence. I love that time. Today, I got up a little later than usual. We had a homefootball game last night and those really take it out of me. Gameday prep usually starts 9 or 10 that morning and gets going full speed about 5:00 for a 7:00 kickoff. Last night, the game wasn't over until 10:15.

This Saturday morning is going to be an little unusual. We are having our first Soccer Saturday. A couple of friends and I are trying to make an investment in our kids programs and we are having our communities first youth soccer games. I'm pretty stoked about that.

After that, groceries for the week and yardwork. Hoping to sneak a little visit to Hobby Lobby in sometime today.

Happy Saturday Morning! The best time of the week is here (at least in my opinion). I'm here eating a jelly donut and having my usual Dunkin Iced Coffee. Delicious. I've got Boomerang on as I have gone back to being a kid watching Saturday morning cartoons again on t.v. Does anyone even know what Saturday morning cartoons are on the main networks now? Honestly, I have NO idea. Does anyone? I think that I'm going to check that out today. I haven't watched them in YEARS and YEARS. They used to be the highlight of my week. Do cartoons even exist anymore on the main channels? I really have no clue. I never watch it. If anyone knows let me know. Or do you all watch the classic cartoons like I do? Not sure if they make cartoons quite like they used to. Hope you're all enjoying your Special Saturday Morning!

Happy Saturday Morning! The best time of the week is back at us once again. This is the final Saturday morning of summer officially. I'm about to go get my Dunkin Iced Coffee and a jelly donut like last week. I've got Boomerang on again. I did try to see what cartoons are on during the mornings now on regular television but I didn't see much (and what I did see didn't wow me). Does anyone remember the cartoons in the 1980s on Saturday mornings? What were they? I may have to research online today and find out. I wonder if I can get any online or on dvd or something. Just curious. I grew up watching them but I really don't remember them. I remember Pee Wee was on and also this roller derby thing was on. But I'm not sure what else. There was a show like "Land of the Lost" or something with dinosaurs too. Ahh memories. I will definitely refresh mine by looking it up online today and get back to you. Have a great Saturday Morning!

Yep, them were the good old days. Some of my favorites back then included 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are you?', 'The Scooby-Doo Movies' (which was the first ever hour long feature cartoon), 'The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show', 'The Groovie Goolies', as well as some of the live action shows like 'Shazam', 'The Secrets Of Isis', 'Ark II' and 'Space Academy'.

Ever wonder whatever happened to Saturday morning cartoons on network TV? This video (>22 minutes long) explains their demise:

Happy Saturday Morning! The best time of the week is here again. Unbelievable. This is the last Saturday morning of September! They're all sacred to me but now with the big 3 months ahead of us they only get more and more special. I am having McDonalds breakfast this morning (Sausage Biscuit & Hashbrown). Pretty delicious with of course my iced coffee from Dunkin. I know they remade Ninja Turtles cartoons on the cartoon network I believe but I have to say the originals were awesome. I think they actually sell a really cool set that I've seen of the entire series. I may check out some Saturday morning cartoon dvds on amazon and look into purchasing some for the holiday season. How's everyone's Saturday morning going? It's funny that I can't remember the last time we had any rain on a Saturday morning here. It's been months. And I'm very happy with how the weather has been on Saturday mornings. Hope you're all enjoying it today!

LOVE Saturday mornings. It's great to not have to wake up to an alarm and NOT have to go to work.

Happy Saturday Morning! The first one of OCTOBER! This is like almost my favorite month of the year and having it be my favorite time of week (Saturday Morning of course) during my favorite month of the year makes it so awesome! We have a cold start out there with temps in the mid to upper 30s! Brrr! Almost feels like it could snow out. A little too early for that thankfully but the chill makes me want to run to Dunkin right now and still get my iced coffee and jelly donut which I will be doing in a few minutes. Still dark out here too. Got the Wizard of Oz cartoon on Boomerang on. Not bad for a newer cartoon. I still plan to research more about Saturday Morning Cartoons from the 1980s/90s and see if any are available on DVD. Thanks for the reminders last Saturday. You guys helped me remember what cartoons were on back then. Hope you're enjoying your Saturday Morning!

I just scored some ornaments from a garage sale this morning. It was about 30 min away, but the guy buys tons of Christmas items on clearance and then resells them once the chill in the air begins. Its still a score because its 50% or more off list price, which of course is hard to come by at the beginning of the season. I’m changing my tree theme to a royal blue and shades of rose gold this year so the trip really helped. My previous theme was pretty a traditional gold and red, with flecks of green (very “department store” looking). I’m still going for the luxury feel, but with completely different tones this year. Now I’m on the hunt for royal blue velvet ribbon to cascade throughout the tree.

Happy Saturday Morning! The best time of the whole week is here again. Seemed like this week went a little slower to me. But we made it back here to our precious Saturday Morning. This is the 2nd one of October. I'm having a repeat performance here from last Saturday with a Dunkin Iced Coffee & Jelly Donut combo. And of course some cartoons on t.v. I have the Wizard of Oz one on now from boomerang. I'm still considering purchasing some 1980s Saturday Morning Cartoons on DVD for Christmas. I just need to start looking around on amazon. I know they had a big ninja turtle set. I didn't realize they made so many of them though. It was like 200 episodes or something crazy. Geez. I'll be looking around today a little more for that and post anything I find interesting. Let me know whatever you are doing this Saturday morning!

Happy Saturday Morning! The best time of the week is back! How'd that happen so fast? I have the cartoons on boomerang and about to get an iced coffee and an apple fritter this morning. Delicious. I always look forward to my Saturday morning breakfast all week long. There is a real chill out there this morning. But that's what it's supposed to be as we head towards later October. Oh man I feel the excitement of this time of year and I hope you all do. I will definitely try to research some old Saturday morning cartoons. I really should have more time to do that today than I have the past few weeks. Happy Saturday Morning Everyone!

In my previous posting I mentioned one of my favorite Saturday morning (live action) shows was this one called "The Secrets of Isis" (And no, it's not a show about that evil organization from the middle east). The show is about a high school science teacher who in times of an emergency can become the Egyptian goddess Isis.

Anyways, all the episodes are on YouTube. I watch it once in a while. It's a trip down memory lane.

Another one of my favorites back then was a show called "Ark II". This was a sci-fi show that took place in the 25th century in which Earth has become a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It deals with a group of three scientists who travel around in a modified RV type vehicle helping groups of people in need wherever such groups are encountered.

Does anyone remember "Land of the Lost" being on Saturday mornings? It had to be in the 1980s...early 1990s tops but I googled it and it says it aired in the 70s at least as the originals. I'm not sure if this is the one I'm thinking about but I thought that was the one I watched growing up in the 1984-1989 time period or so. Somewhere in there.
