Home Alone Goes Back to Theaters

Home Alone celebrates 25 years this Christmas and producers are celebrating in a variety of ways — the latest by announcing that it will make a very limited to return to theaters on November 8th.

Over two dates in early November — the 8th and the 11th — you can see Home Alone again on the big screen. Chances are you saw it at least twice at the time but for whatever reason the movie, which is short on special effects and scenic wonders, has been chosen to once again grace the big screen.

Home Alone was the top grossing movie of 1990. For tickets, see this link.

The movie sparked a franchise and came during a mini-golden age of Christmas movies between 1989 and 1994 when Home Alone, Christmas Vacation and The Santa Clause were all released.

But unlike other movies of Christmas such as Christmas Vacation and even It’s a Wonderful Life no other have been given the chance to return to theaters. Why Home Alone?

It’s the highest grossing movie at the box office of all time, drawing more than half a billion dollars in ticket sales.
