Hot Products for Christmas 2015

More than 100 days remain until Christmas and already it may be too late to get some of the hot products this Christmas has to offer.

Kicking off Labor Day weekend was “Force Friday”, the first day of sales for new Star Wars toys at stores like Toys R Us, Walmart and Target. If Tuesday morning walk-thrus are any indication it appears sales have been brisk and several items have already sold through.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 18th and anticipation has been hyped to its highest level, with fans clamoring for new previews or anything else associated with the release of the movie. Expect Star Wars toys to continue to sell well and to even be in limited supply leading up to Christmas.

Disney is pulling out all the stops to profit from the movie in the months leading up to its debut. The toys will be introduced over an 18-hour period in 15 cities and 12 countries beginning early on Sept. 3, Disney said in a press release. The unboxing of the items will be carried live on YouTube.

Amazon is getting a jump on Christmas hype as well. They have announced the availability of a $50 tablet — just in time for Christmas. It is half the price of its $99 Fire Tablet and will be six inches in size. A new 8-inch and 10-inch model will also be made available.

These announcements come in advance of marketing plans yet to be announced for the critical “Black Friday” selling period for online and offline retailers which now runs from Halloween to Thanksgiving.
