New Year, New Countdown

The art of counting down to Christmas is one that dates back hundreds of years. That is what Advent is all about.

But even for those who celebrate Christmas in other ways the countdown to Christmas adds a delicious anticipation that seems to give the season it’s glow. Especially when you countdown down for far out. For us that countdown begins anew on New Year’s Day — a mere 359 days from Christmas 2016.

That may seem a mere speck on a distance horizon right now. But it will be here before you know it.

In 2016 we resolve to countdown to Christmas in ever new ways. We may not mark every day but we will visit the days to Christmas by marking significant days in Christmas history, by sharing works of Christmas art and culture, by celebrating the many individuals who have had an impact on both the ancient and the modern Christmas. If you follow along you will emerge — some 350+ days from right now — better informed and more merrily prepared for the season yet to come.

The Ghost of Christmas Future has no bones with us.

Have some Christmas to share? Know of a significant date or person we should highlight? Of course we want to hear of it from you. Just let us know — and we’ll share it with everyone else via our site and our social media channels.

Christmas doesn’t have to be far away.
