{"id":153,"date":"2014-03-24T13:01:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T13:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/neeson-and-brosnan-to-make-a-christmas-star\/"},"modified":"2014-09-08T15:27:02","modified_gmt":"2014-09-08T15:27:02","slug":"neeson-and-brosnan-to-make-a-christmas-star","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/neeson-and-brosnan-to-make-a-christmas-star\/","title":{"rendered":"Neeson and Brosnan to Make A Christmas Star"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Downton Abbey<\/em> creator Julian Fellowes announced last week that Hollywood stars Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan will star in a new <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> feature film titled <em>A <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> Star<\/em>, set to begin filming later this year. <\/p>\n<p>Gareth Ellis Unwin, the Oscar-winning producer of The King\u2019s Speech; acclaimed Rise of the Planet of the Apes composer Patrick Doyle; music supervisor Maggie Rodford; Belfast actress Paula Malcolmson and Enemy at the Gates casting director Ros Hubbard are attached to the project.<\/p>\n<p>The film will be made by the Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People, to mark the charity\u2019s 25th anniversary. Fellowes announced the news at a question and answer session for 500 young people at Belfas\u2019s Grand Opera House on Friday, before also unveiling the high-profile names joining the actors for the production.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of young people from Northern Ireland will be involved with A <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> Star, due to be filmed in Belfast. Film and television professionals will mentor them throughout the process to teach them more about filmmaking from script-editing to costume and directing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYoung people, from every type of background and culture, are being encouraged to explore the world of film for themselves, first hand\u201d said Fellowes. \u201cWe want them to break through the glass ceilings and walls that surround them and see for themselves what it\u2019s really like.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes announced last week that Hollywood stars Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan will star in a new Christmas feature film titled A Christmas Star, set to begin filming later this year.
