Just as the government pushes milk and meat the new program proposes to push real <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> trees in support of the real <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> tree industry in the United States. <\/p>\n<p>The average cost of a tree will rise 15 cents thanks to the surcharge imposed by the program. <\/p>\n<p>Some media outlets will continue to politicize this issue, however. Already, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/Big-Government\/2014\/11\/15\/USDA-Christmas-Tree-Tax-Takes-Effect\" target=\"_blank\">Breitbart.com<\/a> is hailing the the story as a \u201cbig government\u201d tax increase. <\/p>\n<p>First proposed in 2011 the issue quickly became a salvo in the <a href=\"http:\/\/defendchristmas.com\/2014\/02\/05\/christmas-tree-tax-not-a-worry-in-february\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>War on Christmas<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>But the issue died when it was apparently supported widely within the <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> tree industry and passage of the final bill last February hardly got any notice. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/christmasheadlines\/~4\/KecfHeUMMPA\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A real Christmas tree this year is going to cost more thanks to a new \u201cfee\u201d imposed by the Obama administration to fund marketing of real Christmas trees.
