Organizers in Frankenmuth, Michigan say they only had about 1300 of the 1800+ needed to set a world record. <\/p>\n<p>Family Life <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/a-glimpse-of-christmas-100-years-ago\/\">Radio<\/a>, St. Lorenz Church and School, Tri-Star Bank and Bronner&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> Wonderland in Frankenmuth teamed up for the Michigan attempt. Postings online from Family Life <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/a-glimpse-of-christmas-100-years-ago\/\">Radio<\/a> and Bronner&#8217;s thanked the roughly 1,300 who turned out.<\/p>\n<p>Participants alternately sang &#8220;Joy to the World&#8221; and &#8220;Silent Night&#8221; as they went from home to home.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify for the record more than 1800 participants were needed to carol at 10 homes over two streets. That&#8217;s the minimum standard set by Guinness World Records. The standing record was set in 2013 in Waukesha, Wis., when more than 1,800 people sang.<\/p>\n<p>The attempt was reminiscent of a <a href=\"http:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/angels-we-have-heard-on-high-and-wow\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>thousand singer event<\/strong><\/a> held last year when a You Tube video was produced with the intent of setting a world record. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Christmas in July event failed to gain enough Christmas carolers to set a world record held over this past weekend.
