Hallmark confirms today that she will do it with song both in front and behind the camera. Carey will direct <em>Mariah Carey&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> Project<\/em>, a scripted movie that will debut this <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> during Hallmark&#8217;s famous <em>Countdown to <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes at a busy time for the singer. Next week, she&#8217;ll receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She recently launched a residency in Las Vegas where she performs her No. 1 hits, including &#8220;Vision of <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/sneaking-christmas\/\">Love<\/a>,&#8221; &#8221;Hero&#8221; and &#8220;We Belong Together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> She&#8217;ll also co-star in the film, her first acting gig since 2013&#8217;s The Butler. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we reported earlier this year Mariah Carey is hoping to revitalize her career with another shot at Christmas.
