Through <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/a-glimpse-of-christmas-100-years-ago\/\">radio<\/a>, movies and ground breaking television Crosby took <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> to millions year after year. <\/p>\n<p>Already an established <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/a-glimpse-of-christmas-100-years-ago\/\">radio<\/a> star in the 1930s Crosby broke out in movies in the 1940s and established the standard of all gold standards of <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> with his recording of Irving Berlin&#8217;s <em>White <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a><\/em> in 1942. Even movies not really intended to be <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> movies starring Crosby became <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> classics. <em>Going My Way<\/em> and <em>The Bells of St. Mary&#8217;s<\/em> showcased Bing&#8217;s acting talents as the golden-hearted Father O&#8217;Malley.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1950s Crosby would release White <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> as a Hollywood feature film and to follow would be even more iconic albums of <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> and hits such as <em><a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> in Kilarney<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s when Bing discovered television and brought his brand of <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> every year to screens across America. <\/p>\n<p>Always a ground breaker, Crosby teamed up with David Bowie and together they made beautiful <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> music together in this television special from 1977:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0jVDl5JhLZU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bing Crosby was the face, the voice and the soul of Christmas for nearly 40 years.
