And nobody was much surprised to hear she wanted to star and direct in a television movie based on the song either. But everyone is a bit surprised she wants to add &#8220;author&#8221; to her resume based on the song. Carey recently told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.people.com\/article\/mariah-carey-announces-childrens-book-based-on-all-i-want-for-christmas-is-you\" target=\"_blank\"><em>People<\/em><\/a> she would release a children&#8217;s book based on the song as well. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I wrote \u2018All I Want For <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> Is You\u2019 it was my dream for it become a classic <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> song.&#8221; Carey said.  &#8220;I am so proud of the song\u2019s impact as it continues to create memories for fans each year.  I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of the song to new generations of families with the picture book.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The book tells the story about a little girl whose wish for <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> is a new puppy, using the lyrics of Carey\u2019s popular 1994 <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> song.<\/p>\n<p>All I Want For <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> Is You will be available for purchase November 10th.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nobody was much surprised when Mariah Carey announced she was resurrecting her Christmas hit from 1994, All I Want for Christmas is You, for this holiday season.
