\n3 tablespoons olive oil
\n1 pound onions, diced
\n1 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
\n1 1\/2 cups sour cream
\n3\/4 cup mayonnaise
\n1\/4 teaspoon garlic powder
\n1\/4 teaspoon white pepper, freshly ground<\/p>\n
\n1. Put the oil, diced onions and 1\/2 teaspoon of salt into a saute pan over medium heat. Cook for 20 minutes then set aside to cool.
\n2. Combine the cooked ingredients with all other ingredients into a bowl and mix.
\n3. Refrigerate for at least an hour — overnight is best for flavors to settle. <\/p>\n
