What happens when Christmas<\/a> falls on a weekend? For the NFL that means football and Christmas<\/a> go together — and Santa<\/a> will just have to use his DVR. <\/p>\n

Christmas<\/a> Eve is on a Saturday this year and the NFL wants folks to tune in to 12 different games that day — including a prime time game between the Bengals and the Texans. <\/p>\n

Christmas<\/a> Day isn’t spared either. There are two games slated that day, the Steelers play the Ravens and the Broncos take on the Chiefs in Christmas<\/a> Day contests. <\/p>\n

Some wonder how these games on television will fare. <\/p>\n

No doubt, many NFL fans consider the broad weekend schedule a gift from Santa<\/a> himself and many may just make either attending or watching football a new Christmas<\/a> tradition. <\/p>\n

The holidays are traditionally a great time for football in America. The college bowl season kicks off just before Christmas<\/a> and the games of the NFL have huge consequences right around Christmas<\/a> each year. <\/p>\n

But many are torn over Christmas<\/a> football and family Christmas<\/a> traditions. <\/p>\n

“It’s a tough call,” laughed Garth Funk, of Colorado, who claims to be a rabid Bronos fan. “But the kids will just have to track Santa<\/a> during the commercials. We’ll still make midnight mass, though”. <\/p>\n

Some see the football festivities as a boon for the NFL — while others think many will wait until the day after Christmas<\/a> to check NFL scores and standings. <\/p>\n

“We love<\/a> the NFL in our house,” Ali Swenson of Tennessee told us. “But unless those games are done before 4 p.m. on Christmas<\/a> Eve there’s no way it will be on in our house. Grandma<\/a>, the kids and everyone else just have too many other things going on for there to be football. If we end up with the men in front of the TV and everyone else in another part of the house there could be Christmas<\/a> war!”. <\/p>\n
