What makes the ugly Christmas<\/a> sweater so fun is that many of the great Christmas<\/a> sweaters of the past are considered better ugly sweaters than actual ugly sweaters you can buy new in a store or online.<\/p>\n

In fact, in a world where things are rated and held up, if there are winners on Ugly Christmas<\/a> Sweater Day it is those who find something vintage \u2013 something that once upon a time was seriously considered nice \u2013 and wear it for fun today.<\/p>\n

While ugly Christmas<\/a> sweaters can most certainly be worn on Christmas<\/a> Eve or Christmas<\/a> Day the great thing about them is that they can be worn \u201cfashionably\u201d any day between Thanksgiving<\/a> and New Year\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

They are worn as theme days in offices all over the world, they are worn in schools and at public gatherings, and they are worn at Christmas<\/a> parties held any time during the season.<\/p>\n

This year that day is December 20th \u2013 a Friday \u2013 and just coincidentally the day predicted to be one of the biggest non-family Christmas<\/a> parties days of the season.<\/p>\n

What can you do to be ready?<\/p>\n

Ugly Christmas<\/a> Sweater Day is a much more difficult dress-up task than Halloween<\/a>. It wouldn\u2019t seem so because it\u2019s just a sweater.<\/p>\n

But finding just the right one \u2013 if you haven\u2019t inherited one \u2013 can be a challenge.<\/p>\n

For many people the art of the ugly Christmas<\/a> sweater begins with a traditional sweater that they then make ugly by adding elements to it.<\/p>\n

This is what people who theme their ugly Christmas<\/a> sweater have to do.<\/p>\n

For example, a friend known for his love<\/a> of Star Wars spent endless hours shopping for a Star Wars themed Christmas<\/a> sweater. Instead of buying one he instead found a normal Christmas<\/a> sweater then he adorned it with Star Wars themed Christmas<\/a> ornaments.<\/p>\n

Some folks with more ambitions will take to sewing machines and knitting needles in crafting their sweater.<\/p>\n
