In case you haven&#8217;t seen this masterpiece, here it is:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/S8YQqK5e5es\" frameborder=\"0\" gesture=\"media\" allow=\"encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Editor&#8217;s Disclaimer: It seems that no matter what we post we receive contrary opinions and plenty of emails of complaint about the politically correct this or that of <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a>. Porky Pig doing Blue <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> is going to unleash those demons in force. For the record, we DO NOT CARE, on this one. This is just plain funny. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Porky Pig, of course, is a world famous <em>Looney Tunes<\/em> character who dates to the 1930s.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s always been wildly popular but we surmise his relative low profile of the past 25 years or so has more to do with political correctness than anything else.<\/p>\n<p>Poking fun at stuttering is Politically Incorrect. Pork is Politically Incorrect (we&#8217;re not sure why). Displacing Elvis is Politically Incorrect. Stuttering pigs at <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> is Politically Incorrect.<\/p>\n<p>Forget all that stuff.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s <em>NOT<\/em> Porky Pig. That&#8217;s Seymour Swine.<\/p>\n<p>He is the invention of Denny Brownlee, a comedian and, for the record, he was just doing his job, folks.<\/p>\n<p>Porky became Seymour Swine due to copyright concerns, not political correctness (hey, it was the 1980s and being PC wasn&#8217;t totally a thing yet).<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/dennybrownlee.com\/the-history-of-seymour-swine-and-blue-christmas\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>full story from Denny himself<\/strong><\/a> but basically he did the bit in a club and got a great reception.<\/p>\n<p>So after some encouragement he put out a record and it became quasi-popular. Over the 30+ years since you could say it has developed a cult following.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, for some, hearing Porky, er, Seymour is a <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> tradition.<\/p>\n<p>For us, well, we put it up there with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/why-die-hard-is-a-christmas-movie\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Die Hard<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>That IS a <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> movie.<\/p>\n<p>And Seymour&#8217;s Blue <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> is a <a href=\"https:\/\/mymerrychristmas.com\/x\/celebrating-20-years-of-the-merry-forums\/\">Christmas<\/a> song, doggone it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For many years we have been asked for the back story of Porky Pig&#8217;s Blue Christmas.
