And even though Christmas<\/a> is so close today is, nevertheless, Complain about Christmas<\/a> Creep Day<\/em><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\u201cChristmas creep\u201d is a media invention. It signifies the appearance of Christmas<\/a> long before Christmas<\/a> \u2014 and before the season of jolliness sets it we\u2019re supposed to endure a long season of bah-humbug. Today is the day when it can \u201cofficially\u201d start. <\/p>\n

Christmas<\/a> in July is over, you see. The media gives Christmas<\/a> a break in July. They hardly ever object to anything Christmas related in stores or in public in July<\/a>. We looked. We couldn\u2019t find a single objection to it anywhere. <\/p>\n

But DefendChristmas.com<\/strong><\/a> swears it happens every year. So we delayed today\u2019s post to see if it was true. And, sure enough, the media is griping today about Christmas decorations at Costco<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What that means is that between now and Thanksgiving<\/a> night the media will moan incessantly about the presence of Christmas<\/a> and the length of the Christmas<\/a> season. Of course, FOUR months of crapping about Christmas<\/a> is an awfully long time. <\/p>\n
