Rehya Stevens<\/strong><\/a> is back for Christmas<\/a> 2019. This year her new offering is featured in the new Disney Christmas<\/a> flick, Noelle<\/em>. Titled Tis the Season<\/em> the song has a retro-pop feel powered by Rehya’s strong vocals.<\/p>\n

The song is upbeat, traditional and Disneyesque. Rehya sparkles as a Disney princess should.<\/p>\n

Her 2018 album featured a number of original tunes that showcased Rehya’s smoky style and did far more to exhibit her range than does this new song. But we’re happy to see that Disney has recognized her talent and has utilized them for their newest Christmas<\/a> film.<\/p>\n

Rehya’s single — and the movie — drop on November 12th as Disney launches their new streaming service.<\/p>\n

You can preview the song and buy it on Spotify<\/strong><\/a>, Apple Music<\/strong><\/a>, iTunes<\/strong><\/a>, Deezer<\/strong><\/a> and CDBaby<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Noelle<\/em>, which stars Anna Kendrick and Shirley Maclaine, purports to be a Christmas<\/a> comedy. The plot centers around Santa<\/a> retiring and turning his duties over to his son, Nick. Nick proves to be a nervous Nelly, unable to rise to the occasion of being Santa<\/a>, and has to be saved by his sister, Noelle, who is no doubt powered by Rehya’s bouncy tune.<\/p>\n

Bill Hader plays Nick and the elf-like Anna Kendrick plays Noelle. Accompanying the pair is Shirley MacLaine as Elf<\/a> Polly, Noelle\u2019s childhood nanny, Billy Eichner as Gabriel Kringle, Noelle and Nick\u2019s cousin, Julie Hagerty as Mrs. Kringle, Ron Funches as Elf<\/a> Mortimer, Brayan Brendle as Kris Kringle, the former Santa<\/a>, Maceo Smedley as Alex, Michael Gross as Elder Elf<\/a> Abe, Chelah Horsdal as Dr. Shelley Sussman, Anna Van Hooft as Elf<\/a> Mary, Anthony Konechny as Elf<\/a> Ted, Kingsley Ben-Adir as Jake Hapman, Burgess Jenkins as Dan, and Diana Maria Riva as Helen Rojas.<\/p>\n

Noelle<\/em> was originally slated for theatrical release but Disney execs thought better of it likely due to the success of the Kurt Russell’s Christmas<\/a> Chronicles<\/em> on Netflix last year. (Ironically, Russell is a Disney alum.) It appears that Disney is using Noelle to draw attention to its new service, which enjoys the advantage of every princess in the Disney universe (why worry?).<\/p>\n

For our money, we lack confidence in Disney’s ability to do Christmas<\/a>. But we do know this: landing Rehya for the vocals was a step in the right direction. We’re glad to hear more from her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
