Christmas<\/a> 2014 just got \u201ccooler\u201d as Idina Menzel has announced she\u2019ll be releasing a Christmas<\/a> album.<\/p>\n

The Broadway star, Menzel, who lent her voice to the animated hit \u201cFrozen\u201d explains her decision to record and release an album saying, \u201cI know I\u2019m Jewish,\u201d quoted Broadway.com of the star during a performance In New York\u2019s Radio<\/a> City Music Hall, \u201cbut a lot of famous Jewish people have written Christmas<\/a> songs, so I\u2019m going to try and have a lot of their songs on the album.\u201d<\/p>\n

The site noted some popular Christmas<\/a> tunes by other Jewish composers including \u201cWhite Christmas<\/a>,\u201d \u201cI\u2019ll Be Home For Christmas<\/a>,\u201d \u201cLet It Snow\u201d and \u201cThe Christmas<\/a> Waltz.\u201d Hopefully some of these classics will make their way into the track list.<\/p>\n

The 43-year-old singer will feature not only timeless Christmas<\/a> classics and favorites but also an original track titled, \u201cDecember Prayer.\u201d<\/p>\n

If you love<\/a> the voice of the \u201cLet It Go\u201d singer but can no longer stomach the constant repeat of the \u201cFrozen\u201d songs, this Christmas<\/a> album may just be your saving grace.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no word yet on a possible \u201cFrozen 2\u2033 but Disney has announced that there will be a stage-adaptation of the film. For now it\u2019ll have to do because the chilly film has become the highest grossing animated film of all time and the fifth in history.<\/p>\n

Many have argued that with the success of \u201cFrozen,\u201d Disney should leave well enough alone. Other classics who have attempted sequels haven\u2019t fared so well so, why risk ruining the memory of \u201cFrozen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Menzel is currently staring in \u201cIf\/Then,\u201d a new broadway musical. It is \u201can original musical written by the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-Winning creators of NEXT TO NORMAL and staring Idina Menzel in her much-anticipated return to Broadway after her Tony Award-winning performance in WICKED,\u201d notes the musical\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

Menzel\u2019s new musical is about starting over. She plays a woman named Elizabeth who is in the process of rebuilding her life and discovers there are still a lot of things that can change and the world holds a great amount of possibilities.<\/p>\n

Other artists featured in the musical include Tony Award winner LaChenze of \u201cThe Color Purpose\u201d and \u201cOnce on This Island\u201d and Menzel\u2019s original RENT co-star, Anthony Rapp.<\/p>\n
