The top five most annoying songs of Christmas<\/a>. Sounds like a peach of an assignment, right?<\/p>\n

I mean, who doesn\u2019t have a list in their head right now of Christmas<\/a> music that makes them throw up a little eggnog<\/a> in their mouth? We all do. After all, there is that much nauseating Christmas<\/a> drivel out there.<\/p>\n

But this is a minefield and I told my editor just as much.<\/p>\n

No matter what songs I list below as the worst some moron(s) are going to contest it. They will protest \u2013 BUT I LOVE<\/a> THAT SONG.<\/p>\n

The fact that I make a list and then rank them means I\u2019m just daring the world to come along and either disagree by listing alternatives or, worse, disagree by calling what I call terrible, um, good.<\/p>\n

So, yes, this is all subjective.<\/p>\n

Tough. It\u2019s my assignment. I\u2019ll do it and dang the consequences.<\/p>\n

But before I start with this list you should know that my purpose here isn\u2019t to list the worst of the worst. There are so many bad Christmas<\/a> songs that the list would be endless. No, we don\u2019t need to do that. We can narrow it down to only five.<\/p>\n

My criteria for this list is that these songs have to still actually get played on the radio<\/a>. And all of those songs on my list as the worst get played way, way too much. That\u2019s reason #1 they make the list at all.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s stuff you hear a lot of.<\/p>\n

It is the stuff that makes you change the channel, drive off the road or run out of the room with both ears bleeding.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re talking common, everyday songs of Christmas<\/a> that some radio<\/a> dude thinks the public actually likes.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re talking the worst of the most heard songs out there.<\/p>\n

Got it?<\/p>\n

Here we go:<\/p>\n

1. All I Want for Christmas<\/a> is You \u2013 Mariah Carey<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m going for the jugular here right out of the gate. This song is so popular \u2013 so called \u2013 and most lists say this is the most popular song since White Christmas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bull puckey. This song is mental illness in an eggnog<\/a> carton.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a love<\/a> song, yes. But it ain\u2019t Christmas<\/a>. There\u2019s nothing Christmas<\/a> about it.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s not love<\/a> if you have to screech. Why is it played so much then? It\u2019s a mystery. But it\u2019s not because this song is good.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not good. It\u2019s a bad song. Mariah Carey is billing herself these days as the Queen of Christmas<\/a>. She is, in reality, the Queen of Crap. Keep Christmas<\/a> out of it. This isn\u2019t a Christmas<\/a> song.<\/p>\n

Say it with me, kids: it\u2019s a bad, bad, bad unlistenable pile of goo.<\/p>\n

Did I mention that it\u2019s bad?<\/p>\n

Awful.<\/p>\n

2. Last Christmas<\/a> \u2013 Wham<\/strong><\/p>\n

Face it, this is a soap opera on steroids. Once again, it is not Christmas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is a sticking point for me in all of these songs. They play at Christmas<\/a> time, over and over. And over and over they just are NOT Christmas<\/a>. Look at these horrific lyrics:<\/p>\n

A face-on lover with a fire in his heart (I gave you my heart)<\/em>
\nA man undercover, but you tore him apart\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

Where is the Christmas<\/a> in this? Where\u2019s Santa<\/a>? Where is the baby Jesus, the donkey, Frosty and gingerbread men?<\/p>\n

This is not Christmas<\/a>. It\u2019s gay guys on Dr. Phil. Stop already. Nobody wants this in their stocking.<\/p>\n

3. Wonderful Christmas<\/a> Time \u2013 Paul McCartney and Wings<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wings. What is Wings? Last I saw they are either part of a bird\u2019s anatomy or an element of feminine hygiene products.<\/p>\n

Either way, they add up to bad Christmas<\/a> music \u2013 with Paul McCartney.<\/p>\n

This earworm isn\u2019t something you can get out of your head. I mean that in a bad way.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d feel guilty for putting this on the list just for that reason alone but you and I know that since I just brought it up \u2013 it doesn\u2019t even have to be heard \u2013 it\u2019s going to be in your head for two weeks.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the stuff of Chinese torture right there. The things they do to enemy combatants.<\/p>\n

Christmas<\/a> is about peace<\/a>. You\u2019ll never get it with this song. Sir Pablo is yet to give us something Christmas<\/a> by which he can redeem himself. And Wings has since left the building.<\/p>\n

4. Baby It\u2019s Cold Outside \u2013 by Just About Anyone<\/strong><\/p>\n

First, like nearly every song on our list, this isn\u2019t a Christmas<\/a> song.<\/p>\n

But, like some other titles, we endured it as a passable holiday tune for DECADES until some woke snowflake decided this song was a Me-Too anthem.<\/p>\n

The lyrics have been scrutinized to death.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s gotta go but he wants her to stay. That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

Tale as old as time.<\/p>\n

It could be Christmas<\/a>. It\u2019s snowing, \u201cup to your knees out there\u201d. But we\u2019re never given a ho-ho-ho, mistletoe, or Rudolph to tie this love<\/a> story to Christmas<\/a>. We have to imagine it.<\/p>\n

But what ruined this song forever was first, it\u2019s banishment by woke DJs somewhere out there, and second, attempts to repair it, such as the version done by Kelly Clarkson with the very cringe John Legend.<\/p>\n

A non-Christmas song redone to be made even less Christmasy. No thanks.<\/p>\n

5. Feliz Navidad \u2013 Jose Feliciano<\/strong><\/p>\n

This one breaks the mold. This one IS a Christmas<\/a> song, as long as you speak Spanish.<\/p>\n

It is almost criminal to put this on our list because Jose Feliciano is an amazing musician who has done a lot of great stuff. It\u2019s a shame this song is his big claim to fame. He is so much
\nbigger than what this song actually is.<\/p>\n

It gets played to death. Day after day from Halloween<\/a> to New Years. Week after week. Year after year.<\/p>\n

It. Never. Stops.<\/p>\n
