Pentatonix Continues to Roll Out Christmas Videos

Pentatonix is hot and they know it. After releasing their Christmas album on October 21st to delirious reviews and rabid fan reaction online they continue to roll out the videos to support sales — and Thanksgiving is still a week or more away. MTV.com has taken to becoming a little snarky about it but you cannot deny the reaction on social media to what Pentatonix is doing.

These new Christmas music videos are generating millions of views, laying waste to the critical ideas that Christmas creep is a problem in America. If it’s good, America wants it. And they want this Christmas album this year.

Released today is the official video of the title track to the album, an original tune called “That’s Christmas to Me”. This particular video is likely the best yet and not necessarily because of the music alone — it’s a great song — but because the video shows each member of the group as kids on Christmas morning.

That’s powerful because it tells us that these millennial children have arrived in the world of Christmas music. Following last year’s stunning re-do of the classic Little Drummer Boy Pentatonix is writing Christmas music history this year with this album of classics and new songs of Christmas like this one.
