Stars Wars Drops Spoilers in Christmas Commercials

Forget everything else we are showing you this Christmas about all the new quirky and clever commercials coming out. This Christmas is owned by Star Wars and no matter who else has something to say — well, nothing else matter. This video below is just 4 days old and it has almost 3 million views. It’s a commercial.

Duracell is the product. We just thought we’d mention that before getting to the real important details here. After all, it’s a commercial.

Here’s the scoop: it’s Christmas morning and the kid who just got a new light saber goes to his room to get the batteries and there’s C-3PO and R2D2. C-3PO is sporting a mysterious red arm.

“Sir, I must advise against this. The odds of survival are 608 to 1,” he says, before a battle with Stormtroopers breaks out in the corridor.

Downstairs, his mother gives him another weapon and calls him their “only hope” before he runs outside to join his sister Lisa, who is notably dressed as Daisy Ridley’s Rey, in defending their family home with The Force. Obviously, it’s all in their imagination…because this is a commercial.

So what’s the deal with the arm? Well, the movie posters and clips shown so far only show C-3PO without that arm — and that red arm, some are speculating, means that C-3PO has gone rogue. Yes, I said it — I spoiled it — he’s some kind of bad guy.

Well, maybe.

You watch and you decide. Oh, and Merry Christmas:
