Merry Pines Day Friends ~
Looks like it will be a pretty busy day for me. My father was admitted into the hospital last night for heart related issues, they’re running tests today. The hospital is nearby so I will be running back and forth to visit. I have to do some apartment shopping with my youngest as well, she is definitely moving in by Friday and she has a lot to do. I’ll try and keep up with my daily chores in between but the house might have to be put on the back burner the next couple of days.

Good Wednesday morning! A definite cooldown today with rain forecast all day long. I’ll be training two new hires almost all day today, that leaves little time for my own work. I’m really looking to my two weeks off at the beginning of September, I’m quite tired now. Unfortunately David won’t be able to take time off at the same time as me, as there would be only one member of his team left at that time, as one of them has quit and one of them is currently taking a 5-week paternity leave. But at least I’ll get a break from work. Hope everyone will have a great day

HMG, so sorry to hear that about your dad, I sure hope that the test results come back with good results. Take good care of yourself and your pops, and don't worry about the house, it will be there, when you have more time.

You know what, I got hone tonight from work about an hour ago and on the way home I started getting this whopper of a headache, right in the middle of my forehead. Since Ive been home, it’s gotten worse. Maybe it’s because the barametric pressure is dropping, were supposed to get rain starting in the wee am hours and lasting like all day tomorrow.

I took a shower and am laying down right now. It feels like a spike being shoved into my forehead. I’m hoping the Advil takes it away.

Hope you are feeling better today! My dogs are the same way...they know when I am not feeling well.

Morning MMC. Happy Pines Day! 10 Days till the Bers!!! This summer has gone by like a blur. I'm going to leave work early a little today to get a jump start on my last break of the summer. I'm off the rest of the week and then I'll pretty much have Labor Day off till Thanksgiving. It's been a heck of a summer at work so this last break is something I really am looking forward to. Have a great Mid-Week!

And we are getting mighty close to the next one. Details pending.

First, we inspect the daily numbers, a tradition that dates back for over ten years now, here at MMC:
Days to the Season: 83
Days to Christmas Day: 125

Now, question: Are we stalking the 2/3 Christmas Day Milestone.......or is it stalking us?
One thing for sure, it has crept up close. Just THREE days ahead. That's UNDER half a week, now.
(Closing in so fast!)

Wow. Still more heavy rain the night before last, but yesterday was precipitation free despite some clouds.
Today sows only a 20 percent possibility of the wet stuff, with tomorrow shown at 0 percent.
Yep. ZERO percent. (It's been a long time since I have seen that!)
Right now, our thermometer reads 76 degrees here in the central North Carolina portion of the MMC Nation.

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day! We have a chilly start to the day! It was in the upper 50's this morning (61 by the time I came to work) but it's breezy & it feels chilly. The windows are wide open at work & I actually have my heater on!! Tonight is supposed to get down to 50º! Brrrrr!!
Work for me today, then my high school friends are getting together tonight at the local watering hole! I'll be at the Pines after, so keep the party going!

Very annoying!
Thank you! It has been raining off and on here since early morning. When I checked the buckets at noon, there was about 3/8". Not sure how much more has fallen, but I don't think it will be over an inch. So happy to have gotten any rain!

Sometimes I think that our pets can sense if we are not feeling well, or in distress or something like that. Since I’ve laid down, Shiloh has been right by my side, nuzzling me and purring.

I really hope you found some relief with Shiloh by your side. Pets are the best to help ease tension and bring us comfort.

She really does.

Goodness, that headache stayed with me for hours. I Finally, stated getting some relief a couple hours later after the Advil started kicking in. That was probably, the worst one that I had in years.

Hope you are feeling better today! My dogs are the same way...they know when I am not feeling well.

I am thank you so much SFM! Awww, doesn't that make you feel better when they do something like that.

It made me feel better. She's my girl! When I first adopted her, she would just hide for days and not come out from her hiding place until it was very late at night to do her business and such. It took me, probably a good solid month, before she would come out to me and another 3 months before she would trust me. She was so shy, the poor thing and would jump to any noise. She still gets spooked when she hears certain noises, but, now, she loves to be held by me, for long periods of time, she kneads me and curls up on my chest or lap to fall asleep and, gets this, we talk to each other now. Yes, I say hello, she gives me 2 little yips, every time! She always talks to me to get attention and she comes a running when she hears my voice. Ariel is mommy's girl. She follows Jill around like a shadow!
