The Annual Christmas Card Exchange of My Merry Christmas has been running since 2004. Many have participated in this cherished tradition from the very beginning.
Here is how it works: beginning with Christmas-in-July we accept sign-ups from Merry Forums premiere members ONLY.
There is no cost associated with this activity besides what you spend on cards and postage.
The exchange is NOT open to visitors of My Merry Christmas or to standard members of the Merry Forums of MyMerryChristmas.com. We do this to maintain the integrity of the list, to regulate as best we can the privacy of participant information, and to keep the list a manageable size.
A secured, private area of the Merry Forums has been set up to discuss details of the exchange. Click here to go to the Christmas Card Exchange Forum. There you will find details of how the exchange works, important dates, and sign-up links. You can also ask any questions you might have about the exchange there.
Just put together cards for your Christmas friends online and wait for festive cards for you to arrive in the mail! It is a time-honored Christmas tradition here on MMC and one you will come to cherish even more over the years.
Christmas Card Exchange Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My mailman thinks I’m crazy. Is that normal?
A: Yes. You will be receiving cards from caring friends all over the world. That’s definitely not normal these days. The cards are creative, festive and heartwarming. There’s nothing wrong with you. Sharing Christmas with others is what it is all about.
Q: Who are these people sending me cards?
A: Stop by the Merry Forums and get to know them! Most who sign up for the Christmas card exchange are here year round and participate in daily discussions about Christmas.
Q: I signed up last year. Do I have to sign up again this year?
A: Yes. The list starts fresh every year.
Q: How big is the list?
A: It is usually between 70 and 100 people each year.
Q: Where does these cards go to and from?
A: Most are in the United States but quite a few are also in the U.K., Iceland, Norway, Germany, Australia, Canada — and all over!
Q: Do I have to send to everyone on the list?
A: No. Send to as many or as few as you would like.
Q: Isn’t my mailing information kind of personal to be handing out over the Internet?
A: Yes, it is. So be wise. Use a work address, a P.O. box or other alternative address to receive your Christmas cards. MMC does this as a merry service each season and accepts no liability for the information you share. We only provide those who sign up for the list with your information and then destroy even our copies of it each year. But it would be best to be cautious and not use a primary address to receive mail.
If you have additional questions to ask please come to the Merry Forums and ask! We have many participating members who can tell you of their previous experience with the exchange. We will be glad to answer any questions you might have.
