LOL moisty mix, I love it! Your menu sounds amazing (especially the fried chicken part!)!!! My family doesn't watch football , but I always look forward to all the excitement and good food sales in the stores lol. We also live across the street from a high school and I remember when we moved into our new home last fall and we had to windows open to let the cool breeze in and we could hear the marching band play. When does the first game of the season actually start for the NFL ?
WOOHOO!!! Thanks Crown! I can't believe the BERS are almost here!!!!
Today is a pretty typical Monday for me... getting chores and work done. Last night we went over to my parents house to see my grandma (shes staying with them for 3 weeks) and also saw my brother and his girlfriend. I brought over some homemade cookies and everyone loved them!
This evening we have to take Gandalf to the vet, I am SO nervous for him... I didn't get any sleep last night worrying. The vet suspects its a condition called mega esophagus from the sound of his reoccurring symptoms but I hope it's nothing serious and he will get through it.
Hope you all have a wonderful Monday and a great rest of your week!
Doing that ... I'm freezing in the office with my water bottle handy!Stay cool and hydrated, Merry!
********** MILESTONE DAY ********
Good Morning, Good Morning, Fellow Milestoners!
Yes indeedarino, Friends. Another Milestone has arrived, and right on schedule.
We will discuss it and its implications once we review the daily data briefing:
Days to the Season: 80
Days to Christmas Day: 122
What we have arrived at is the transition point between the second and final THIRD of our Christmas Day count.
That fact, coupled with the fact that our Season count is in the final quarter and that we are only a week away from the start of the 'bers, means that things are just about to move into high gear as the holiday season looms.
Already, Halloween Zone has started moving into Crabtree and Hallmark has had their Christmas merchandise out for some time now. Any day, Belks should start assembling their Christmas section, the Blossom thread opens in about a month, and about 6 weeks from now, Crabtree will start putting up their main mall decorations.
(Yep, Guys. It's getting toward that special time of the year once again!)
Another pleasant day here yesterday, with still the lower temps and humidity.
No rain to spoil thing, either.
Today will see the temperature up slightly, into the mid 80's, with still only a 10 percent chance of rain.
This weekend has opened here in central NC sunny, at 65 degrees.
Have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone!

woke up to a big bang this morning at 5 am as a thunderstorm rolled through., so much for another 1/2 hour of sleep.
Off to look after Layla before taking her to horse riding camp for the day and then I have a cake to bake and decorate.
Hope you all have a great day!!!
Hope that your interviews go well, Brent~ best wishes!Good afternoon, everyone!
I'm glad we're all so excited for the 'Bers. I'm excited to experience that first breath of autumn crispness to go along with the beautiful assortment of greens, reds, oranges, and yellows the trees provide throughout the season. It's going to be another wonderful time. In fact, there are already a few early-starting trees in Ottawa right now.
Usually, my excitement for the 'Bers coincides with my desire to return to the classroom. For once, I don't think I'm quite ready to go back to teaching just yet. I've greatly enjoyed these past four weeks and wish I could have another four.
If I were returning to supply teaching, I could ease myself back into the school months, but it appears that I will likely have a full-time position for the entire semester somewhere... I just don't know where quite yet. I had an interview today, I have another tomorrow, and at least one more on Friday. It's going to be a very busy week!
We'll see how it all goes. Anyway, I hope the final days of August treat everyone well. Then, of course, we will welcome the weekend and the 'Bers on Saturday!
Merry Monday, M!Merry Monday!
Have a merry week, MMC!!
Merry Monday, HmG~
Hope that Rocky's appointment goes well today <3
How does he react to going to the groomer's? Hope he doesn't mind a bit.
Hope that the unpacking is going well for your daughter, and she can get settled in before the Fall semester. I'm sure she appreciates all you're doing!
Sending hugs. Have a wonderful day!!
xo

That is great, HmG!!Thank you so much Snowflake ~
Rocky does well at the groomer, so I’m told. It’s funny because he doesn’t even want me to brush him at home. I guess he behaves better there
Thankfully we’re making progress at my daughters apartment. Moving is a lot of work!
I hope you enjoy the rest of the day!
xo
Continued prayers being sent~Thank you !
Thanks for your prayers
The appointment could have gone better... apparently the vet thinks he has a rare genetic condition that isn't the easiest to treat. We have to go back in next week for more testing.. poor guy. He was pretty darn happy with himself though, he got hot dogs and didn't even get poked LOL . I know he is a fighter and he will be okay. Just going to keep doing our best and love him forever.
Really enjoyed reading everyones posts today, sure was uplifting after such a cruddy day! Can't wait for fall and happier days to come.
Thank you !
