Christmas Countdown - 2018

Happy Tuesday!!
I was not able to log on the past couple of days, we were at the beach on Sunday and then yesterday I took my youngest daughter school shopping and then we had her open house at school with a soccer scrimmage in between.
My daughter really liked her all her teachers and they completely renovated the school, it is beautiful so nice and bright!
Then my washing machine went yesterday, looks like it was the pump and motor so I stopped and picked out a new one but it doesn't come until next week so I may have to take a trip the laundromat or go to a friend's house.
Back to work today and my kids start school tomorrow.

Good morning and Happy Tuesday MMC!
It’s going to be hot and humid today with a high of 90 degrees. I have to run a couple of quick errands this morning. Back home afterward to work on chores. I will be going to my daughters apartment again later this morning, she’s having her TV, phone and internet hooked up. They gave her an 11-2 time frame which isn’t bad. I’m going to grab something for lunch and head over there to sit with her so she isn’t alone. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Good Morning, Christmas Companions and 'Ber Barometers!

Yes, we eagerly await the 'bers, which are really closing in now that we have reached August 28. So close!

But the count goes on in its relentless progress.
Here is the latest:
Days to the Season: 77
Days to Christmas Day: 119

And you read that right. We are now down into the teens in the countdown to our next Milestone, which of course is the 100-day Christmas Day Window, which in turn marks the start of a double-dougle digit count sequence, as the holidays close in.

Well, the heat and humidity have returned with a vengence, making it clear to us in no uncertain terms that summer is not yet ready to depart.
Heat index levels were predicted to be close to 100 yesterday, so I delayed yard work until shortly after sunset, by which time it was noticeably more pleasant.
We should be in for plenty more H&H for the balance of this week.
Today has commenced here in the capital city at 74 degrees.

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

Staff meeting is over, now I have to get a few things done before I leave for a funeral. It's church-family, and they've been close friends for years.

We had started a plan to have dinner with Jacob in the city he lives in once a week on Thursday, to make sure we stay in touch. He told us that was a great idea!...just not this week. He's too busy with his 3 month dating anniversary with is girlfriend. He'll get back to us on it. LOL

Good Tuesday morning! We'll have a couple of unbearable, sticky, humid days still. It's already 35°C/95°F with the humidex. I keep hoping for a long-term cool down but then the humidity goes right back up. I'm buying ice cream today for sure and will try to stay cool. I have the day off but as always there's tons of things to do. I worked 12 hours yesterday trying to get things done. I expect the remaining 3 days this week before my vacation will all be 12-hour days or more. Hope everyone will have a nice day today!

It was extra steamy yesterday!! I'm freezing in the office today, so not sure what it's like outside, but the prediction is for more of the same steamy w/ a high of 88!!
It was a wonderful weekend. We didn't do the bicycle poker run as it was pouring down rain!! It sounds like there were a lot of bicycles out later in the afternoon, but we weren't in the mood anymore. I was so tired after being up with mom several times overnight Friday!!

Thanks everyone!
We made a lot of progress at my daughters apartment today. I’m heading back over there tomorrow to help out some more. I’m hoping they will be completely settled in very soon.
My father was discharged from the hospital today, he’s so happy to be home. He was having issues with his blood thinner and the diuretic. The doctors decided to adjust the dosages, it seems to be helping for the time being. I’m going to visit him tomorrow morning before I go over to my daughters apartment

She's so pretty! Lulu's groomer had to cancel her scheduled appointment earlier this month due to an illness. It'll be another week before she can see Lu, and boy is she fluffy LOL!

Chad is back in his blue shirt!!!!! The nightmare is over and all is right in the world. We can all sleep well again. Well maybe not tonight. I mean Valerie is on at 1am.

Unfortunately, I don't think I will be able to make it Lambeau this year. I am going to Cornwall for Christmas, so I won't even really be around... unless I make an impromptu trip in November, which is somewhat possible.

Kim and I are considering flying to Chicago for the Packers at Bears games on December 16th. It's a super cheap flight from Ottawa and ticket prices aren't too bad.

My dad and brother have season tickets this year for the first time ever! You can bet they'll be attending at least 7 of the 8 regular season games for the next 30 years!

Good morning, everyone!

It's a hot one. We're already nearing 100F with humidex. I had planned to go for a running workout early this morning, but I couldn't get out of bed. I think I will have to wait until the sun goes down this evening. There will likely still be humidity, but at least there won't be a boiling hot sun.

Thus far, I have a teaching interview today at 3:30, tomorrow at 10:30 am, and then on Friday morning at 10:30. Hopefully, more interviews arise in the near future, too! It's a busy week. I will be starting my sixth year of teaching, so it's about time I started receiving more offers to have my own classroom for an entire semester! ...and to teach English rather than Math.

Other than my interview, I believe Kim and I will be going to the grocery store as well... she's been off for the past two weeks, too, which has been quite nice around the house.

It's great to see the Countdown to Christmas Day nearing in on single digits. As well, we're now closer to two months than three months from the Christmas Season. The times keep moving so fast!
