They never need to come back!! We set up a "Bag A Beetle" in the back yard. I could not believe how many were in there. Gross!!!
Fingers crossed for a pretty fall!
I know, it is disturbing!!

They kill my plants every year.
My Mom doesn't get any in La Crosse!

Hope you guys get a beautiful Fall this year!!

Thank you, SFM~ appreciate the prayers!

My parents had some water in their basement, and we without power for about 7 hours yesterday, but they are safe thankfully. They couldn't get out of their neighborhood, because of downed trees. They had wanted to go check on my aunt, but we've since heard she is okay too.

My sister has it rough- lots of water in her basement. She was sucking it up on & off all day, as the rain didn't ease up until close to midnight last night. A lot of her belongings are lost, for sure some furniture and carpet has to go. I just feel bad for her because it's just her and my niece there, and they've had a rough time lately. I know she's very overwhelmed.

Gov. Walker declared State Of Emergency for 6 counties in Wisconsin, including La Crosse where my family is.

So sorry to hear about your family. How old is your niece?

Good morning HMG!!
So did your youngest & her fiancé get a new kitty, or did they already have this one? How cute! Have fun shopping!
Dinner sounds great! I bet you are starting to have to cut down on your meal sizes? Or do you send "care packages" to the girls? :)
Anyway - have a GREAT day!!!

They rescued the cat about a year ago. The kitty has been living at my daughters fiancés house. Now they are all very happy in the apartment!
I have not cut down on my meals. My husband just asked me why the grocery bill stayed the same if there are two less people here. My oldest stops by often and I always feed her lol. I’m sure it will be the same with my youngest. I doubt the bill will go down anytime soon but I’m not going to complain!!!

Happy Hump Day!
Another scorcher here today with really high humidity. My girls have their first day of school today. I only got a pic of my youngest, my oldest couldn't find her shoes so she was running around trying to find them...lol and so it begins!
My husband is home with vertigo, it started last night and has terrible nausea and dizziness. Hopefully he will feel better today.
Just typical work for me today and I am going to make a taco bake for dinner.
Hope you all have a great day!

I hope your husband feels better very soon.
xx

Happy Wednesday to everyone!

Like others of you, we're expecting record heat plus humidity today. Yesterday was awful, and the air is so hazy. Tomorrow should break the heat wave. Some schools that are starting this week are closing at 11:30 a.m. because of the heat. Crazy!

Still no word from Gloria, and we're worried sick. The area where she lives got 51.53 inches of rain from Hurricane Lane between last Wednesday and last Sunday, and the flooding is terrible. We tried to reach her by email and phone, but there's been no answer. We hope she and her family are safe.

Continued prayers for Gloria and her family. Sending hugs.

Merry Pines Day, HmG~
Stay cool today!
Hope that your daughter's kitty loves the new tower!
How is your Dad doing? Continued prayers for him <3
Hope you have a wonderful day~
xo

My father is doing pretty well. Still adjusting to a couple of new medicine dosages but he seems to be gaining some of his strength back, which is great. Thank you so much for asking, we really appreciate the prayers <3
xoxo

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I am hoping to be able to get on a little more. This year and the last part of 2017 have been quite challenging so hoping the last part of 2018 goes better. We have 3 days of vacation left at Mikes grandparents

Hi nmc, nice to see you~
Sorry to hear it’s been a challenging time for you guys.
Sending positive thoughts your way.
Hope you enjoy your remaining vacation days to the fullest!

Merry Thursday MMC!
Another hot and humid day. The heat has been making me cranky lol, looking forward to some Autumn weather. Hope it gets here soon. Not too much going on here, just a typical day of errands and chores. I’m also going to visit my Daddy later this afternoon :)
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Good Morning, Everybody!

Relentlessly, the holidays close in on us.
We are helpless to stop their inexorable approach.
But then we are lucky. We don't want to stop them!
(Slow them down some, perhaps.)

In that regard, we need to constantly monitor the proximity issue.
So.......
Days to the Season: 75
Days to Christmas Day: 117

And the Milestone status?
Well, a quick check of that indicates that we are now down to a scant 17 days to the 100-day Christmas Day marker.
(The holidays' approach is not only relentless, it's also stealthy!)

The heat and humidity? Not going away any time soon, I'm afraid.
But that lawn has to be dealt with before the weekend, so I deal with it after sunset but before it gets dark. The narrow time band keeps me on my toes!
And why by this weekend?
I'll get to that in a separate post!
Today has commenced here at 77 degrees.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, my Friends!
