Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good morning .. Concert last night was awesome. Lady Antebellum was great but Darius Rucker hands down rocked that show. I would love to see him again. We didn't get home until midnight and DH had to be at work at 7 this morning so I know he will be tired when he gets home. I have a big batch of apple butter going in the crockpot. Going to can a few jars for us and the rest will be canned and given as Christmas gifts. Weather is very fall like this weekend, nice cool temps with a nice breeze.

Y'all, it turned Fall last night at 12:00 a.m. and it was literally like Fall rolled into town. We were in the 90's yesterday and have a high today of 64. AMAZING. It felt so good outside this morning. I'm so excited. The hot weather is done, but it is winding down. Our high the next ten days is 80. They had called for some days to be really cool, but that changed.

Nonetheless, this is amazing.

We are going to a football game today and we have luxury box tickets. Free food...and maybe an adult beverage or....7.

Prayers for all in Ottawa. We were hit with a rare tornado here in northeaster Pa. about 6 months ago - millions of dollars worth of damage as it hit a shopping plaza - many stores still closed (Dick's, Barnes and Noble, Staples, etc) About 8 stores were permanently damaged and were (or scheduled to be) razed. Let us know how everything turns out Christmasstar. Hoping for the best!

Good Saturday afternoon everyone! What awesome weather we are having! Yesterday was 87, today is 65! I'd roll around in the grass outside in happiness if the neighbors weren't out to watch me! This is the weather I have been waiting for! Actually I'd like a high of 50, but I will take this for now. Have the air off (finally!) and all the windows open, which of course is a feline magnet. All 5 of them are either sitting in a window stalking blowing leaves or they are chasing each other through the house. The cooler air makes them a bit crazy! Not too much on the agenda, have to get started on laundry and get ready to cheer on the Buckeyes! Have a great Saturday everyone!

More fall-like today, with temps just around 70, and the sun occasionally peeping through the clouds. Nice, after the sweaty August and early September!

According to the Lowes website, the local store has GE lights strings in stock ... I'm on fire to get over there and get some new strings, as the wires on the old ones are un-twisting and hard to string on the tree. I'm curious to see how much Christmas stuff is out for display!

The chipmunks are adorable! I love to sit out on the patio and watch them when they are chasing each other up and down the pine trees.
Thank you ~ the research went better the last time. The organizing went great, although there is still a lot to do.

What a neat thing to observe! Hope Palmer is okay now, little sweetheart. Too cute about the chipmunk!

It is a neat thing! Palmer is fine now ~ she is staring at me as I type this.
Chipster is a very inquisitive, friendly little guy ~ and a cutie, too! He is also very good at warning the other animals about the occasional hawk or eagle that flies overhead.

Yesterday as the office manage was showing me around what was in the kitchen/bar area cupboards, she opened up a cupboard full of pumpkins/fall decorations! I told her it was time for those to come out! Then she opened up more cupboards & said the Christmas decorations were in there. I told her that I would break the news to her right away ~ I'm a Christmas nut!! ~ She said "Good, then you can put up the tree!!" That sure doesn't break my heart!!



The tree frogs have been going crazy here lately. Love to listen to them!!!

The tree frogs have been quiet the past few days ~ it has turned a bit chillier out this way. I love listening to them, too! They "sing" all night long sometimes!

I hope everyone is having a great day! Earlier this week I broke out one of my Christmas book series to start reading in anticipation for the authors next Winter trilogy to come out. I just finished Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand and am starting Winter Stroll. Her next Winter series book is released October 9th I believe.

I do believe it is the first day of Fall, my most favorite time of the year is now here; Fall thru Christmas. I spent most of the day outside today stacking firewood to get ready for the coming winter; I loved it. The air is starting to get to those perfect temperatures to where its really nice to work outside. I'm hoping to be able to get back out there again tomorrow.

Today should be a perfect fall day. The high is only supposed to be 63 with rain all day again. Right now it's 61. Just another day of work for me. After work I will go to Mikes parents. I'm sure they will be watching a scary movie so I will have my Christmas book to read. Have a great day

Happy Autumn MMC! We made it to the best season! And it really feels it out there. Looks like the weather next week is a little up and then back down to normal/below normal weather. I'm glad it's actually cooled off quicker than I thought it would. Have a great Sunday!

The day after tomorrow.
That is when we will arrive at the THREE-QUARTER marker to Christmas Day 2018, after which we will really start closing on our beloved Christmas Season!

Reasonably nice here yesterday, albeit a tad on the warm side.
Today should be noticeably cooler (highs in the 70's) but with a pretty good shot at precipitation.
Pat II of our weekend has begun here in central North Carolina at 70 degrees.

Good morning, Christmas friends. Hope all is well in your part of the world. Rain outside...sounds so peaceful. Kids are sleeping, wife is sleeping...heck, even the dogs are sleeping. This is peaceful.

Went to the football game last night and sit in one of the suites. It was pretty cool. Adult food and adult beverage, but I never budged from my seat. Doc said it was like I was watching it on TV...said she would laugh when she would start hearing me talk about do this or watch out for that. I never noticed. Guess that is the old Ballcoach coming out in me.

Today marks the beginning of the last full week of September. Read that again....

Amazing. So much fun is about to start happening....

Good morning all!

The inside Halloween decorations are up. We are still working on some items to go outside and hope to get the outside stuff up the first week of October, which is late for us. We have just been busy with football practices, games, and everything else.

Speaking of football, we have a little league game today. It will be nice to play a game that is not in 90 degree heat.

Merry Sunday ~
It’s going to be cloudy with highs near 66 degrees. I’m just having my coffee and watching HGTV. I don’t have too much going on for today. I had plans to go to a local craft fair but it’s drizzling right now, not sure if it will be postponed. I already straightened up the house and started laundry. I just finished frying meatballs and my sauce is simmering, dinner will be baked ziti. I’m going to give my mother a call right now to chat, I haven’t spoken to her in a couple of days.
