I'm pretty sure I'm going to love it... I love most Christmasy movies. One of my sons said, "I'm sure it won't be as good as the Jim Carrey version, but that's ok." Which is weird because usually people say that about the old cartoon Grinch from the 60s... I think they've only seen that version once or twice. But we all love the Jim Carrey version too. (I know - a controversial position!) We just love Christmas movies!

I love every Christmas movie/special as well, doesn’t matter what it is! I like the 60s version better - so do the both my kids!

SPECIAL POST DAY 5

I'm often asked why I collect Santas.

Made, what a great start to our special posts. I wrote mine last Sunday so I could keep touching it up through the week. It is eerie how close we are. Enjoyed it, friend. Merry Christmas!

Special Post Day 4:
and the Choir Keeps Singing of Christmas

fAITHFUL FEW WHO YEAR LONG GATHER BOUND

JOYOUS TOGETHER, COMMON SHARED GROUND

SHUT OUT THE ANGRY WORLD WHICH EXISTS ALL AROUND

TO ALLOW THE CHOIR TO KEEP SINGING OF CHRISTMAS

Binger....awesome job. I absolutely love it. Well done, my friend. Well done. Thank you for all of the operas, the special posts, the light-heartedness....and introducing us to Darlene. You are a fixture in my thoughts at Christmas. Merry Christmas!

I'd dare say the best start we have experienced in my years here. Great job!

Merry Friday MMC ~
It’s going to be cloudy with a high of 53 degrees. We’re expecting rain later this afternoon in to the evening, could be heavy at times so I’m going to get my errands over with early. I have to stop at the pet store for a couple of things. I’m picking my youngest up afterward and we’re going to a boutique to look at mother of the bride dresses. I really need to find a dress soon! Other than that I will be working on the laundry. Dinner will be beef stew over egg noodles. I guess that’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a wonderful weekend ahead!!!
xx
I hope you were able to find a dress or get am idea of what you would like!
Good morning and Happy Friday. My oldest is on her way to camp for the weekend and my youngest is going to a sleepover tonight. A kid free night means Date Night! Planning on going out for dinner and do some Christmas shopping tonight. In the mean time going to get some cleaning done. Have a great day!
Enjoy date night!
Good morning MMC! Merry Friday! TGIF!!! We started the morning off today with ... SNOW!!!
:snowhappy
Of course, most of the snow came while I was sleeping, but I guess at 5:30 this morning it was a winter wonderland. Nothing stuck around - there was some on the rooftops & a little in the grass, but then it turned to rain & it's all gone! Booo! Was still fun to see. Lucy was sure watching it...

I work this morning & then I'll be off the rest of the day with no major plans. I'm sure I'll dig into something at home! (watching it snow & Hallmark Christmas would be nice! :D)

Tomorrow morning 11-2 is my nieces (my Goddaughters) baby shower open house. Then I'm hoping to meet up with my lake girl friends after. Sunday I'll be with mom. That's about it! Oh....and of course GO BUCKS!!! :D (I'll be missing part of the game due to the shower :( What are they thinking - a shower on Buckeye day??? Ha ha)

Everyone, have a great day!!
Have a great weekend!
TGIF, Christmas friends!

I'm so glad to be home! We played the golf tournament in Alabama yesterday...in the rain..., so I was covered in mud and soaking wet in khakis all day. Yuck! Still, seeing Bellville at 9:30 that evening made it all better. ;)

Tomorrow, we're taking Elizabeth for senior pictures (how can that be?!?), and it's going to be an all-day affair. They don't just do the formal picture at school anymore. Now you have to have "environmental" pictures in different areas with several wardrobe changes. Ugh.

Anyway, I'm back, baby!!View attachment 51663

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Glad you are home! Have fun with pictures tomorrow

@sugar142286 have great weekend!

Just work all day for me. It's been rainy all day so once I got home we were in for the night. Carolina wanted to go to the outlets but they are outdoors so maybe tomorrow. It supposed to be a high of 42 tomorrow. I am loving how cold it is getting. I hope everyone is having a great night. I am watching Hallmark now

Finally caught up on my paperwork. Yay! Now to make some lists and then read for the rest of the evening.

Have a merry day, my friends!

Good evening folks. It sure is just a plain outright, miserable night out tonight! It's really pouring down rain, its a cold rain and the wind is blowing hard out there, the lights are flickering, the cable just went out.

When I got home this evening, I made a fire in the fireplace and oh baby, does it ever feel oh so nice right now! The kitties are napping and I can hear the rain hitting the side of the house. Whoa, a power surge just came into the house and we lost a phase of the house power. I bet you some tree limb is hitting the power lines some where's up the road.

Its a shame this isn't snow, then it would be a really wild night out tonight!
It is going to feel so nice, not, to have to get up for anything tomorrow morning. I may play a Rip Van Winkle tomorrow morning till noon!

I love every Christmas movie/special as well, doesn’t matter what it is! I like the 60s version better - so do the both my kids!

We just got back from watching The Grinch... it was Great! My 8 year old daughter LOVED this movie. She laughed throughout all of it, she followed the plot perfectly (she sometimes struggles with movie plots for some reason), and she really identified with Cindy Lou Who and her storyline. I thought the movie was really great, too. My wife thought it was maybe way too sweet, and my oldest son (almost 16yo) liked it but not as much as the Carrey version. My middle son and I can't decide, because the two films are SO different in style and purpose. I think it will come down to what I'm more in the mood for - sarcastic and funny, or sweet and funny.

One thing we do agree: Max the Dog is one of the best animated characters ever.
Danny Elfman's soundtrack is amazing. It was just such a good movie, and we had a great time out tonight!

Special Post - Day 3

People are always asking me, “Why do you love Christmas so much?” or saying, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone love Christmas as much as you!” Well, there are several reasons why I’ve become to love this special holiday and I’m going to explain why.

When I was younger, Christmas was so exciting, as it is I think for every child. We would always decorate Black Friday and my parents went all out - they still do today. I enjoyed helping them and decorating the tree. We had several traditions, such as going to see the lights, watching Christmas specials together, and going to Christmas Eve mass. Many of the traditions I had as a child, I still do with my kids today, but have added to them. I decorate a lot earlier now, mainly because I want to enjoy Christmas that much longer.

Being Catholic, Christmas and the birth of Jesus were always very important in my home. We celebrated Advent and the Epiphany. This time of the year has become very special to my now family as well and we even leave our decorations up until the Epiphany, which is seen as the end of Christmas in the Church.

When I was a small child, my grandfather (dad’s dad) passed away December 27th of cancer. He was only 50. My father always seemed to have a hard time with the holiday, because of so, but would continue to try and make it jolly for us kids. My grandmother (Dad’s mom), would attend Christmas Eve Mass with us every year and then spend the night at the house. I’m remember when I was 14, I was looking forward to that mass, because I had a duet that was going to sing, which was “Silent Night”, my favorite Christmas song, and I couldn’t wait to sing it, in front of my grandmother. That Christmas Eve morning, she passed away. That holiday was beyond tragic for us and was for several years for my father. She had already obviously bought us our gifts - one of the gifts she got me that year, was the start to my natvity set, that I still use today and cherish so very much. As the years have went on and now my dad has 5 grand babies of his own, I think our family has become to really treasure the holidays and know that the time we spend together, no matter what it is, is always precious.

I ask you, my friends, to make time for your family, no matter if it’s just an hour or the whole day long. The holidays are a time for loved ones to be together and make memories, which is what my parents did with me and now I do with my children. I’ll never forget these times and know that my kids won’t as well. I’m thankful for the time spent with my family and urge you all do the same!

Merry Christmas to you all, God Bless you and your families!

What a beautiful post Sugar, thank you for sharing. I hope the memories of your grandparents bring you comfort. Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas season.

Good morning ~
Happy Saturday!
I was in and out all day yesterday shopping with my girls. I finally found a mother of the bride dress! I’m going back to the boutique after Thanksgiving for alterations, I just have to get a pair of shoes first. I’m so relieved I found a dress!
Today will just be a typical day of errands and chores. I have to make a big food shopping trip this morning. I also have to run to the pet store at some point to pick up a couple of things. Other than that I will be working on the laundry. I think we’re just going to grab a pizza for dinner later tonight and watch the hockey game. That’s about it for me.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx

Very happy for you that you found your dress HMG. What style and colour did you chose? It really seems like the wedding is coning up so fast, but it sounds like the planning is right on target.

That's really nice, Sugar. And straight from the heart. A message most everyone can identify with at some level.
Thanks for a beautiful Day 3 post!
