Morning MMC! What a night. I left work at 5PM in the snow and to get to my home 7 miles away it took till 10:30PM. I've never seen anything like it. I made the mistake of trying the parkway to get home since I figured my normal backroads would be snow-covered. Unfortunately the traffic where I was driving didn't move...like at all. You'd sit in your car for 30 minutes and not move 2 feet. I've never seen traffic like that and I hope I never do again. Have a great Friday!
Wow, Edge ... that takes me back to Dec. 13, 2007, I think it was. Left work about 3 p.m. in a snowstorm and it took until about 8 p.m. to get to a Walgreens just a couple miles away in the same town. I learned what "gridlock" means: at intersections, no one could move; backups were so long they were crossing the intersections. and they just kept growing. I stopped at the Walgreens and just sat in a chair by the pharmacy and read until about 10 or 10:30 p.m., by which time the gridlock had broken up and the main roads had been plowed. As you say, I hope never to experience that again! I'm glad you got home safely.

We were lucky---our snow didn't start last night until around 8 p.m., when we were both safe at home (and pizza had been delivered :D ). We got about 8 inches overnight (the forecast said 2 to 4), but it turned to rain by daylight, so it's a slushy mess out there today, but, I'm thankful to say, not treacherous.

Good Morning, MMC!!! We’re off to another icy start here. The schools are all on a 2 hour delay. It should melt quickly though and end up being a decent day. Mom has PT again this afternoon and I need to run to the grocery. Other than that, it should be a laid back weekend. I hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning MMC!

Haven't been here for a couple days – just wanted to pop in and let you all know that we had to say goodbye to Mom yesterday! ☹️ She passed away around 4 PM. She's in a better place!

This morning we had ice, now it has turned to rain, expecting snow for most of the day. I hope it turns to snow soon as I am cleaning carpets and getting ready to put up my sunroom Christmas tree. Going to need some extra lights in the house on these dark nights to make me smile!

We have to meet with the funeral director this afternoon and then the priest after. We are figuring we will have her viewing Sunday afternoon and her funeral mass Monday morning. I'm glad she is no longer struggling but it stinks.

Everyone, have a Good Friday Eve!!
I'm so sorry for your loss, my friend. Bless her heart, I'll be praying for you and your family.

Good Morning, Fellow Travelers.
And as much fun as it is traveling together during the year to the start of the Season, it's even more fun traveling with each other DURING the Season!

But, there is still business to attend to.....and our counts go on:
Days to Thanksgiving: 6 (UNDER ONE WEEK LEFT!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 39 (Barely over 5 1/2 weeks remain!)
And the 90 percent Home Stretch point to Christmas Day?
Well, that's the day after tomorrow, Folks!

Cold, wet and miserable all day yesterday. Downright nasty.
Today and tomorrow? Well, it's supposed to be sunny and much warmer.
Which is good, because my older niece, Lauren, is getting married here tomorrow!
Our current reading is 40 degrees.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And a Way-Out Weekend Eve as well.
Keep enjoying the Season!
Thanks Crown! Have a safe and good day!

Thank you Merry! We've certainly had worse storms than yesterday but it was pretty bad for this early in the season. Still, each department now is blaming each other for who didn't do their job to prepare for it. Oh well, I just hope everyone got home safe.

TGIF, Christmas friends!

I was out yesterday with Elizabeth's One-Act Play State Competition. The kids did the best show yet! Unfortunately, they did not place among the eight schools that were competing. We did "The Music Man", which is a well known, fun play. We were told by several folks that the judges at the state level were more interested in thought-provoking (read WEIRD), serious plays. Oh well. I was pleased that our kids were the first to offer a standing ovation for the winners, and they went to congratulate them. First class!

congrats to her and the whole team for a great effort ! Looks like they were having fun with it.
The first cake competitions I entered I was told I needed to think outside the box and not just make the expected.
Judges can be hard on competitors.
Tell her from me to not give up, keep on trying !

Have a great day! Continuing prayers for your father

Continued prayers for your Dad..I hope he is able to go home soon.

Thank you both. Just found out he needs another blood transfusion so he won’t be going home. Still not sure what’s causing all of this, hopefully they’ll figure it out soon.

Praying for your father and that the doctors can figure it out.

Merry Friday!

We ended up with almost three inches of snow since last night. It's very heavy and wet and still covering the trees, although it's starting to drop off now. Still very gorgeous out! Not much traffic, although the roads are passable.

Just work for me and trying to catch up on some projects.

Be safe and merry!
