Christmas Countdown - 2018

Jacob's band is touring around GA, SC & FL this week, so he's away, Elizabeth went out with her friends, and Nancy was in Atlanta shopping with her sister...so Lulu and I were home alone for hours. I finally got up on the roof and cleaned out the gutters, then fished leaves out of the pool till dark. I got some Taco Bell, then fell asleep on the sofa. Nancy finally came home around 9:30. So happy to see her!

Today is our 24th anniversary, and Elizabeth's 18th birthday!!

Thanks for all the well-wishes. I still feel under the weather, but I’ll make it to work tomorrow. Mr. is fine, and we should have a report from the adjuster and the repair shop at the end of the week. Till then, we’ll just have to be patient and not think about it over Thanksgiving.

Which is good because mom has a couple more appointments tomorrow. So I won’t have a lot time tomorrow to get ready. Hope all is well! My Mom is coming over tonight and tomorrow night for supper. Tonight, it is chicken nachos and tomorrow night it will vegetable soup. Both are really easy to make....and it gives me time to get a few other things ready for Thanksgiving. Tomorrow is a big day....everything that can be fixed up and ready to put in the over will be done. Mom and I are going to cook fudge tomorrow night...an annual tradition in our house. There is usually a fight to see who gets to lick the bowl. Tomorrow night, a passage of the torch in a way....the girls will get to fight it out. My brother and I are sitting this one out...should be a blast. Hope to come back tomorrow for coffee and catch up on this week.

If yall can't tell, I'm just a ball of energy at this point...ready to go!

I’m sure both stores will be a madhouse. I have to run to the mall as well to finish shopping for my daughters birthday. I also have to do some cleaning and work on the laundry. Busy, busy. Dinner will be tacos, at least that’s quick and easy. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!!!

The kids start Thanksgiving vacation today as well, so they will be home with me too. DH is working and I work at 7 tonight, along with DD having team baton for 2 hours, so it will be a busy night.

Not much on the actual agenda today. I’ll just enjoy the kids and try to relax. Tomorrow was be busy. I have a lot of baking today and we’re having Thanksgiving here.

Good Tuesday midday! It is snowing again today. Winter is still a month away and already I'm tired of the snow. And they're announcing more tomorrow and cold temperatures after that. We were supposed to have diner with my in-laws tonight but the roads are bad so we've rescheduled. So I'm staying inside for now and watching Holiday Baking Championship on dvr. While David will go to his physio appointment in a few, I will try my hand at making a fruit ketchup and a spreadable maple syrup fudge (soft sucre à la crème). If both are a success, I will make some for the treat boxes I give my family at Christmas. Tomorrow I'll try another new recipe, Nutella brownies. Don't know yet what I'll try the rest of the week, I'm still looking up recipes. Hope everyone is having a great day.
