Happy Sunday MMC! Thanks so much for all the prayers for my Dad. He was discharged from the hospital and we will have the results of his liver biopsy on Wednesday.
Today we are putting up the tree and my daughter has an indoor soccer game. Hope you all have a great day!

My prayers are still flowing for your dad.

Good luck to your daughter!!

Good morning everyone!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We hosted again this year, which is the standard. I roasted a 26lb turkey, which struggled to fit in the pan.
Henry is such a big help in the kitchen. We made pumpkin bread and pies from real pie pumpkins. When I say we, I took care of the pumpkin itself and helped Henry with the ingredients, but he measured, added, and mixed everything.

Friday we went and cut down our Christmas tree. Then we were going through our decorations and my wife suddenly suggested we should go ahead and make this tree my "Santa Tree." A little background... I have always wanted a tree that was all Santas or ornaments that go with Santas; red balls, elves, gold balls, etc... So needless to say, I was super happy to make that happen.

Of course to make that work we needed to reorganize our other ornaments. So, the tree in our bedroom has most of our family ornaments including hallmark ornaments and such. My wife ordered a small 2 foot tree for her woodland creatures, and she ordered a nice wire tree for her bird ornament collection.

We have had a warm couple of days, but that is about to change tonight. We are getting a bunch of rain and wind tonight and then the temperature is going to drop into the thirties again.

Well, everyone have a wonderful Sunday!

Congratulations on getting your Santa tree!! What color lights did you do? I’ve always used multi but upgraded to a 7.5ft tree this year with white lights and I love how they make the red of the Santa’s really stand out.

The tree is about 11ft. We have A LOT of lights on it, all LED. There are warm white "twinkle" lights, and then red, green and frosted white lights. The tree skirt is red with green and white accents.

Nice!!! I wish I could do an 11ft tree. I don’t think my apartment complex would like me cutting a hole in the ceiling though.

Most of our house could not hold the tree, but our living room ceiling is slanted. As a resulted, the back of the room has a nice high ceiling, so we started putting a big tree there a few years ago.

We have a white tree in the living room also that is about 7 ft. That tree is my wife's decorations. We also have a 5ft tree (fake) in the bedroom. We own a small aluminum tree but did not put it up this year.

Good Morning MMC !

things are crazy here with less than a week to the wedding. But everything is falling into place. Main items are of course the decorating of the hall and the church, but we have lots of volunteers for that so it hopefully will go smoothly.

Today we have a pastor and his family coming in to preach this morning that may become our new pastor. Will know after the votes are in this evening. I have had opportunity to listen to him online and what I hear is impressive. Looking forward to meeting him and his family today.

Our company Christmas party is tonight, but I will only be popping in for awhile after the meal as the vote at church will not be over till around 7pm.

Hope you all have a fantastic day !!

Instead of a work social before Christmas; we're going with something to lift the blues near the end of January instead this year. If they go with my suggestion for an "I can't afford to go to the Bahamas Party"; I'll help organize it; otherwise, I'll just attend. It won't be the same as a "Holiday Social", but they haven't been the same the last few years; last year we were at a bowling alley. I came in 4th place on my team, but the score was horrible. None of us knew how to bowl; we had some laughs though.

Hope the wedding unfolds beautifully; we know the cake will be a hit!

Well, everyone have a wonderful Sunday!

I did a TY Beanie Tree and my Donald Duck (Scrooge McDuck) stuffed character became my tree topper. Silly, but I had fun with it.

Twice my parents went with the whole Partridge in a Pear Tree thing - the Gold Partridge on top and tons of pears and other ornaments.

For the hallway tree at work, one year, I decorated with acorns, walnuts, small brown sugar-soft bears and cardinal ornaments with tinsel and tiny clear lights.

I like the idea of theme trees, but don't have room for more than one at a time.

Good Morning, MMC!! It’s going to be a beautiful day here with high near 60. Then rain moves in tonight and turns to snow tomorrow with a high of 30 degrees. That Mother Nature sure is temperamental any more. I need to put up my tree in the kitchen today and then I should be done with the major decorating. It’ll be my 4th tree this weekend. I did my main tree and my aunts tree Friday. Then my 81 year old neighbors tree yesterday. I also got my outside decorations up yesterday too. I hope everyone has a great day!!

I went shopping and dropping cards in the mail wearing a rain coat today - crazy for this time of year. Nearly half our snow has melted. but it will come again.

I'm glad you're getting so many trees decorated. I like visiting friends over the holidays just to see the differences among their trees and ornaments.

Carried out my annual tradition yesterday of sneaking into my office over Thanksgiving weekend and decorating my desk area. Folks enjoy seeing that when they come in on Monday morning.

Busy busy busy with various projects here.

Maybe I can bring back the tradition of office door decorating. They stopped a few years back for security purposes, but we have cameras every where now and lock our offices when we're not in them so there's no excuse. I have a few items on my desk too.

They'll have to build a penthouse style apartment, give you a high skylight so it can fit. Easy fix really. HaHa.

I'm sorry to hear that Rocky is giving you such a hard time with the Christmas decorations. Looks like he's frazzled by all these new shiny things that he has never seen before so he goes on the attack. I hope you find a way to put up the tree. Maybe look online for some ideas on how to prevent him from going after the tree? A trainer at home would be beneficial. We kept saying we would bring in a trainer for Loki but never did. And he's still over protective and will growl or bark at the tiniest noises in the hallway. Enjoy the decorations you get to put up today and have a nice day HMG.

Thank you so much Martine. I put some decorations out around the house and it looks more festive in here which makes me happy. I’ll let you know how Rocky does if we decide to put a tree up :)

Thank you Meceka! I found a pair of shoes today so I’m ready to have my dress altered on Wednesday. Six more weeks until the wedding!
I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!
xx

Merry Sunday, HmG!
I'm so glad you found a pair of shoes!
Thank you! :)

Haven't check in since Thanksgiving morning...

Thanksgiving was all that I hoped it would be. Family time is what my heart desires and I got plenty of it. My grandmother, who is 86, and I got to sit and visit for a good, solid two hours. We both got tickled because Bambina kept telling me to quit yelling at her (my Nanny doesn't hear too well after 86 years). I wasn't yelling, but I did have to raise my voice for her to hear me. The meal...well, it was the best we have made in my 41 years of living. Simply wonderful.

Doc and I got up Black Friday and did some serious shopping. After a couple of hours, I ended up in Barnes and Noble reading. It was such a good time and we got some pretty serious deals. We upgraded our phones and Target gave each of us a $250 gift card and two coupons that give us 20% off of a shopping trip. Doc was strategizing on how to make the best use of those, but she got terribly sick on Friday night and it continued through yesterday. If she doesn't improve today, I'm going to make her go to urgent care.

Other than that, cooking and some outside work are on the agenda for today. It is supposed to be in the low 60's here and this is the last pretty day (and warm) on the 10 day forecast. I'm going to make sure I enjoy it!

Merry Sunday, coach!

Praying Doc is better soon!
