When the year is off to a bad start...A former employee of ours who just got promoted to assistant-manager and was supposed to start training this week learned this morning that the cells they removed from her throat are cancerous and specialists are recommending a qtotal removal of her larynx, as chemo would not yield good results. She is devastated, having to decide at age 56 if she wants chemo, with a slim chance of long-term survival, or having a permanent tracheostomy, with all its consequences but with 100% certainty she will be cancer-free. If you can include her in your thoughts as she goes through this, it would be greatly appreciated.

God Bless her. I will be keeping her and her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Good evening all. Going to be turning in soon. We ended up buying a brand new car for me tonight. I'll reveal more about that in the am. I'm getting tired - it's been a long couple of days and think I'm going to be turning in soon. I'll talk to you all in the am. Goodnight!

Morning MMC! I've been looking at the long range forecast and it looks like we're going to have a really cold stretch through the middle of winter. Brrrr...I long for the days of the warm spring/summer/autumn sun. Just felt really tired last night when I got home. I guess that's normal for a Monday :). Hard to believe Christmas was 3 weeks ago already. I still see some lights out! Have a great day!

Good Morning, MMC Citizens!

And as good citizens, we want to keep abreast of the latest developments as regards our count, Milestone markers, and the proximity of our long-awaited and much-coveted Christmas Season.
Well, we are here to help with critical data, supplied to you free of charge.
(Of course, what you do with it is up to you.)

Days to the Season: 303
Days to Christmas Day: 345
That's the current count.

As to the next Milestone?
Well, it's the 300-day Season Window, and is now LESS than HALF A WEEK into the future.
(Now, armed with that data, I'm sure you will know just what to do!)

Cold, cloudy and damp all day yesterday. Most dreary, to say the least. The kind of day that can easily trigger Seasonal Affective Disorder!
Fortunately, today is predicted to be sunny and dry, albeit still chilly.
Our opening temperature of the new week here is 34 degrees and for now, it's still quite cloudy.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone!

How many ways can one person mount the excitement for each countdown without sounding repetitive?

Crown will show you how it's done. -list-

Good neighbors are worth a lot. Glad you're able to get out now!

That's for sure; I remember when I was growing up, we'd leave the back door open just in case a neighbour needed to borrow a bag of milk or something.
We used to alternate which yard would hold the fireworks on Labour Day and the whole street (by the time I was in my late teens) got involved with lighting Christmas candles.
So many neighbourhoods aren't like that these days; I'm glad I have some decent ones to remind me that we matter to each other.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

It's still overcast and yucky this morning, but hopefully that will clear up soon. All this talk of snow, and we're just getting rain. Blech.

One of the football coaches at Elizabeth's school lost his 2 year old son this weekend when the child got away from him at a birthday party and fell in a pool. Bless them! We attending a prayer service at the school last night, and the place was packed. I've never met him or his family, but I admit I was crying before the night was over. :( The power of the Lord's presence and the emotions of the moment are overwhelming when hundreds of people are praying together for the same thing.

I have an appointment with the orthopedic doctor tomorrow. I'm ready for my hand to get better! It's my left hand, and I'm left-handed!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Oh dear, that's sooo sad. I had to attend a funeral for a co-workers infant son who died of SIDS many years ago; until that moment I could never imagine coffins being made that small.

I'm left-handed too.

She might not want to listen to them without giving all options a try. In the case of my dad, he was not expected to live and if he did, the panel of doctors who reviewed his case said he would never talk again. He had a huge tumor at the base of his tongue and another one on the larynx; he didn't lose his tongue or larnyx; the chemo and radiation wound up working and he totally baffled the medical profession. He has no saliva glands left, but other than that, he's in good shape.
Miracles happen.
Keeping her in my thoughts.

I'm running late, I better hop in the shower; I'll try and catch up later.

I feel bad that I fell asleep while I was praying for everyone last night. It should still count.

Stay jolly! -reindeer-

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!
It’s a bit warmer than it was yesterday, it’s going to be sunny with temperatures in the mid 30’s. We’re currently at 20 degrees. I’m just having a cup of coffee and relaxing for a few minutes I need to get started on breakfast soon. I have to run to the mall later this morning to pick up a couple of more gifts to give to my daughter after her graduation ceremony tomorrow. I have to stop at the supermarket afterward and do some food shopping. Other than that I will be working on the laundry. Dinner will be tacos with chips & guacamole. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well. Have a great day MMC!
xx

I can't imagine how she must be feeling faced with such a difficult descison to make and the consequences that will follow. I'll definitely keep her in my thoughts.

Good Morning, Fellow Voyagers!
Do you ever get tired of all the endless traveling? As soon as one journey ends, another identical one begins.
No?
Me, neither!

Speaking of voyages, let's check on the status of this one:
Days to the Season: 302
Days to Christmas Day: 344

The 300-day Season Milestone marker?
Well, now. That's THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, Folks!
(Indeed, indeed.)

Chilly all day yesterday. Very cloudy in the morning but the sun poked through for the afternoon and made things a bit less dreary.
Today should see us climb in to the upper half of the 40's, with mid-50's predicted for tomorrow, both days with a very limited chance of precip.
We begin day two of the week at 35 degrees here in the middle of NC.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!

Ah! My biggest challenge and my biggest fear, Auntie!
Sometimes I wonder just how many ways the English language can be manipulated to say nearly the same thing in a different way 365 times a year for over 15 years. That's over 5,000 posts, less some off for times I'm away!
I guess one of these days, I'll start the daily post, my eyes will glaze over and that will be it. Time to hang up the word processor!

So sorry to hear this, Martine. Will keep your co-worker in my prayers.

Thanks! I think so too! Since I barely ever use my Sirius XM anymore, I called to cancel it today, they tried to give me a promotional discount and reminded me that they did that before, so they cut it in half, so since I do use it around Christmas time, I agreed to keep - they cut the bill again in half, so I'm only pay $5 a month now, which is very good for the biggest package. DH said from now, he's making me take care of all that kind of stuff, because I always get stuff down and I am good at complaining! LOL
LOL! We just did the same with Sirius, too. We told them to cancel the subscription, then they offered a ridiculously low rate for 6 months. I agreed, and I've set me calendar to remind me to disconnect in 6 months!
