I told DH, it was worth trying anyway. I use Apple Music and I find anymore, Sirius is so many of the same songs over and over again, even the live stations. We were paying for a family subsprcition for Apple Music and not using that, so I bumped that down $5 a month, so saving there as well. I will admit - I do enjoy Sirius around Christmas time. I love the Holiday Traditions Channel and found myself really loving the new Hallmark Channel they had this past year.

I've experienced the repetition with Sirius on various commutes; I don't think it's meant for the home - sometimes the same song will be played by different hosts in the same day. I don't mind if they are songs that typically get stuck in my head or that I've always connected with, but some of them are 1-hit - why bother tunes.
I'll keep it in my car; my husband just uses CDs and USB drives or MP3 tunes.
At home, we mainly listen to CDs and a wide collection of tunes from the 60's to more current times - sometimes we put the music TV station on for something different.

Congrats to your daughter...so exciting!

Congrats to your youngest. May happiness and success be her constant companions.

Congratulations to her! My baby will graduate high school in a few months, and I just wish she was still 8. Life goes on, eh?

You have had many milestones lately! Again, congrats, and enjoy every moment!

Congratulations to your daughter! xx

Congratulations to your daughter! Your daughters are celebrating such great moments this month, you have many reasons to be proud :)

Thank you so much!!!

HAPPY PINES DAY - Middle of the week - I'm trying to get caught up, but I have a nasty migraine again so I'll have to take a break from reading.
I have to do a quick grocery run on Friday - doubt we'll get out on the weekend. Temps will be freezing so bad, my freckles will try and jump off my face to find shelter. My husband said, for sure he doesn't want me out on Sunday when the temps dip down to -40.
Keep a merry thought in your head -surprise--reindeer-

Hope you feel better! I thought I was getting one coming on earlier as well - I had an aura, took some of my rescue meds and it seems to be better as the night is going on.

LOL! We just did the same with Sirius, too. We told them to cancel the subscription, then they offered a ridiculously low rate for 6 months. I agreed, and I've set me calendar to remind me to disconnect in 6 months!
We have done that every time our subscription runs out. The last time I called them I told them just tell me the best deal you have and I will tell you yes or no. They did I accepted and was happy. Thought instead of the back and forth I just asked right away, and it worked.

Good afternoon all! Not much going on here. I have my niece again today and DH is working, so we're just chilling and relaxing. I'm drinking coffee and getting caught up here with all of you.

So, as far the car went, I think I mentioned to you all the other day (I apologize if I didn't) my BIL is a car salesman at a local Audi, VW, and Toyota dealership. I have a nice car right now - a 2016 Honda Pilot, but it's bigger than what we need - we should have never bought a third row vehicle (again - don't ask), but as the family gets bigger, we thought we would want it with 2 kids, 2 dogs and Honda talked us in to it. It was obviously an expensive vehicle, more than I would like to share with you all. LOL. It wasn't brand new, but close enough. We could afford the payments, but to make it a little more affordable for us, they drug the loan out a little longer than I had hoped for and talked my husband in to. Anyway, I was involved in a 3 car accident last winter and my damage was $11,000 worth. You wouldn't even notice to this day that anything is wrong with the car, but because of so, that's really brought the worth down on the car and with this loan, we weren't ever going to get a head above water of this car. We wanted to get rid of this car, while we could. As a lot of you had saw the other day, the great idea our friend had. My gracious BIL sat almost all day yesterday, ran everyday deal, way, what have you, leasing (which I put almost 20,000 miles on my car a year, so it had be a high mileage lease, so even with the cheapest kind of car they had, we were talking a $600-700/month car payment and that is just mine. I don't think so!!! He even did a lease on Audi - I'm hoping just to be funny - if not, he's completely nuts and my payment would have be $850-$1000 a month. He's just insane.) Anyway, he worked for hours, looking at Toyotas, VW, and Audi's. He was looking at putting me in to a Toyota RAV4, but the owner was there and said if I was looking staying in between size vehicles, he really recommends that I get the VW Tiguan. It is made by Audi - we are getting the name, just like the Acura I was looking at used by Honda, but not paying the price and still getting the quality. He said it's a wonderful family vehicle and once I sit inside the car, I'm going to absolutely fall in love with it and it drives beautiful, plus it's $100 a month cheaper than Toyota, for it being owned by Audi. He said he yes wants to make money and wants to sell us a nice car, but also wants us to make a good decision, something that is good for our family and that is economical and not going to strap us down, which I really appreciated. I felt like they treated us very well. Well, he was right - DH and I sat in the car - DH took it on the road and I drove it around at least in the parking lot and we are absolutely in the love with the car. They offered more on both of cars then the other place was, so we sold them both of cars and bought me a brand new car. We got a 2019 VW Tiguan (which is an AWD SUV) and DH then will go back in June and lease his first ever truck and his first ever brand new vehicle as well - we always both have had used cars. We're both really excited for ourselves. We started our family young, 23 and got married at 22, built our house at the same age, and just have worked really hard, so I am just happy and proud for us, knowing it's paying off. It really helped too that VW offers discounts to all first responders, nurses, and military. Just in case any of you are ever looking!

Anyway - thanks for putting up with my lengthy car discussions the past couple of days!

Nothing else planned really for today. I am relaxing pretty much, tying up some odds and ends around the house, and getting dinner ready here in a little bit. DD has group competition baton this evening, which is 2 hours long, but she is feeling a lot better, so I think keeping her home yesterday did help. Thank you all so much for the prayers!

Hope you're all having a great day!
Congratulations!

It's incredible how fast time passes. My daughter reminded me the other day - our school district signs them up for Kindergarten for 5 yo, birthdays until the end of September, so she was just turning 5 when school started. DH and I debated on holding her back in Pre-K and started her that next year, because her brother, who is 22 months younger than her, is pretty much the same size and most of the kids are bigger than her in her class, etc. Her teachers kept reassuring me that she would be bored and that she is too intelligent to do that to. I am so glad we didn't - they were right, but she just reminded me the other day, when she starts college, she will only be 17. I had to stop a second and think about it and realized she was right. I had small panic attack and also realized that is only 9 short years away! Ugh...
We have kindergarten registration in April...not ready for it at all
Nice car!

Good evening,

Took a few days off, accidentally, darn NHL 19 on XBox, from coming here. Got busy and by the time I remembered it was too late and time for bed.
I shut off my outside lights on Sunday night for the final time for the Christmas 2018 season. (They may come on for an encore if we get that snow on Sunday, I want to see my lights in the snow) My trees are still up, I should have started taking them down today, but they make me happy and there's no going back once they come down.
Work beckons in the morning, just wanted to make sure to visit and get caught up tonight.
Good night, everyone

You'll have to post a picture if you do now with the snow. I don't think I got one single on this year.

Seriously frosty over here in Switzerland. My car was encased in rime this morning.

The sun is out, though - very pleasant! Had we had this sort of weather in December, my Chrimbo vibe would surely have been better.

The days are drawing out a lot now - the sun was only just going down at 6pm last night. Luckily this year, i'll not have to contend with weeding, wall-building, garage-painting and general Manual Labour (Ole!)... the joys of living in a broom cupboard.

Morning MMC! Happy 2nd Half of January! We have a big winter storm heading our way this weekend as I am sure many of you have also. They are still unsure how much snow & ice we will see. I am just working today and tomorrow before a hibernation winter 3 day weekend. Based on the weather forecast starting Saturday evening through Monday sounds like freezing cold, wind, snow, cold, more cold, ice and maybe a freeze over of rain on top. I can't wait for it to be 75 and sunny lol. Have a great day!

Good morning ~
I’ve been up for awhile, my oldest started texting me around 4:30am. She knows I’m usually up early anyway. She’s coming down with something and couldn’t sleep. Thankfully she has off today so she needs to get to the doctor as soon as possible to see what’s going on. She’s scheduled to work tomorrow and Saturday so I’m hoping it’s nothing serious. If it is I told her she will have to get a note from the doctor and stay home. She feels bad because she just got back from her honeymoon. I don’t have too much going on today. I want to make my daughter a pot of chicken soup and bring it over to the apartment, I just need to pick up a couple of things at the supermarket. Other than that I will be catching up with some things around the house. We were out of the house yesterday for quite some time for my youngest daughters graduation ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony but very long lol. I still can’t believe my baby is a college graduate. I feel old! Well thats about it for me. Oh and I’m going to make shrimp scampi over linguini for dinner. I hope everyone has a nice day!
xx
