I was just looking through my team's PTO calendar. I saw a couple people have put in for Christmas time off. So I just put mine in for the day after Christmas until after New Years. Felt good to be thinking about the big day!

Originally, I had only booked off the first week, but updated to take the whole whack off - I don't know how I'll be feeling when Christmas rolls around so I want to be prepared to be sad, be happy or travel if the mood suits me.
It does feel exciting to be thinking about Christmas holidays already.

Got my work project finished on time and another one that I was supposed to do tomorrow.

Getting excited about my grandsons wedding this weekend. Hard to believe he's too old for building flip-track roads with me. Where does the time go?

If he wasn't related to me, I would still consider him a wonderful young man. He's strong in character and never too busy for people in his community and he's so young to be a Chief of Firefighters. The older crew seem to accept his leadership. Josh's wife to be, Meagan is a nurse - geriatrics is her specialty. I'm glad she was there to offer emotional support to Josh when they came to say their goodbyes to my husband; he needed her strength and love.

I suppose they could have a child of their own soon enough to build roads with - oh boy, I shouldn't rush things; they're a sweet couple and although they are just getting their careers underway, I know both of them will make wonderful parents when the time is right.

This will be our first time together since my husband passed away. I realized that the Bridal Shower gift was given to them with a card from both of us, but the wedding card wasn't signed yet so I'm not sure if I should just sign my own name or add Gary's to it. He knew what I was getting them so I think I'll add his name to the card.

I booked Monday off as a vacation day, initially because I wanted a day to relax and wasn't sure how I'd be feeling, but now it seems like it will give me time with O'Malley and get laundry done and do a bit of grocery shopping.

Well, I'm off to the Pines for those free fired twinkies.

Merry Morning - been up since 4:20 so I figured I might as well get up and at it. Going to start work early, drop off laundry and pick it up later.

It's raining lightly, I thought I heard thunder when I woke up, but I guess it was just a heavy load on a transport, made a rattling sound; lots of road construction going on around these parts.

Wasn't that a blast at the Pines - O'Malley cat always enjoys catching up with Carl, but they are not a good influence on each other - that dance was cat - bat crazy.

Have a great day and stay jolly! -reindeer-

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

We had a birthday party for our niece yesterday afternoon, and her boys swam in the pool until they were forced out by their mom at 9pm LOL. It was a lot of fun, and after sunset it was a beautiful evening.

I'm planning a trip to the mountains again this weekend to finish-up the alarm installation, and to wash the siding. Nancy won't be able to go, but Jacob said he might go with me.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good Morning, Sweet Sixteeners!
<< "Sweet Sixteeners", Crown? >>
Yep. It's just 16 days to something BIG.
<< What, Crown? >>
Read on and find out!

Days to the Season: 174
Days to Christmas Day: 216

Sixteen days.
That's the number that separates us from the ninth Milestone marker of the 2019 Countdown. And that point is the 200-Day Christmas Day Window.
Two weeks from the day after tomorrow.
Then, both of our count numbers will begin with the number one.
(Oh, happy days!)

Really delightful here yesterday, with temps in the 70's, low humidity, plenty of sun and not a drop of rain. The only downside was the mosquito population which has rebounded in recent days.
Today will see the start of a rapid warming trend which will culminate with a predicted high of 95 by Friday, then highs in the 90's for seven consecutive days.
(And that's just too much heat for May!)
Right now, we begin things at a right comfortable 68 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Fellow Citizens!

****** TRAVEL ALERT ******

We are off to the coast again for our next-to-the-last pre-rental season visit to the cottage and to enjoy the Memorial Day weekend. We won't leave until mid morning on Saturday so I can post the count then, but a volunteer will be needed for Sunday an Monday mornings. Anyone interested?
Thanks in advance!

Oh, Carl loves having O'Malley come by the inn. They're pretty tight.
In fact, sometimes they get rather conspiratorial!

Thanks Crown! Holiday Weekend Incoming!

Terrific Tuesday - my Monday as I was off yesterday for Victoria Day; went for a short drive; the weather wasn't the best chilly with light rain, but the HWY was really wet from the short downpour before I headed out.

O'Malley cat and I hung out together a bit yesterday in the late afternoon. He's always around, but he was much closer to me and I got on the mattress with him for a bit and gave him a nice rub.

Last night, shortly after I went to bed, I awoke from a nightmare; I had been moaning and saying, "Get away!" as I woke. O'Malley was in the doorway keeping an eye on me to make sure I was okay. Weird dream, shadows were after me and it didn't help that when I woke up I saw a shadow in my room, but it was from the fan rotating that cast a shadow on the ceiling and wall from the light coming through the window. Slept pretty good after that.

Have a follow-up with my doctor later today, but I already know the test results were fine.

Keep a merry thought in your head! -reindeer-

Hope the follow-up went well and you were able to get a better night of sleep!

Good Morning MMC !

I miss you guys so much...it has been crazy here looking after my aging mom, keeps me hopping, but I do love looking after her !
I finally got a new van, 2012 Dodge grand caravan. My wonderful sister gave it to me. So nice to drive.
Hoping last nights frost was the last we will see for the season. Looking forward to starting my garden.
Praying you all are doing well and praying harder for all of you that are facing struggles.

now I am off to work !

Good to see you, Star! Keeping you and yours in my prayers!

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

My proposed $700,000 office renovation and expansion was approved by the corporate office last week! Our main office was built in the mid-80's, and its pretty small, so a few of us have been working in an office trailer beside the main office. This has really been needed, but I've been told for more than a year that corporate would never approve that kind of expense. Ha!

Of course, now I have to execute the plan. It'll be fun, though, to do something different. Oh, and...my new office is as large as the general manager's new office LOL! :D

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Wow! That's very exciting - congrats! :)

Good morning all! I worked the last two days and didn't get to check in and give you an update on DS. Between being busy at work and with him, I wasn't able to make it here. DH called me Tuesday morning at work and said DS was still having pain and felt his wrist wasn't any better. I talked with the doctor and she agreed, I trialed 2 days or so and with kids and growth plates, it's hard to tell, plus, if my gut feeling was that it could still be fractured, it's better to just get the x-ray done. It's not invasive and not going to hurt him. DH brought him out to work after school and sure enough, thankfully, we did the right thing. He has a buckle fracture of his radial bone of his wrist. He'll be in a hard cast for 4 weeks and have it re-x-rayed. If all goes well, he'll go to a soft wrist for 2 weeks, but if the x-ray shows he still needs some improvement, he'll be put back in the permanent cast. He's been such a trooper!

Not much going on here today. I have the next three days off. We're leaving tomorrow, to travel to York, Pa for DD's regional baton competition, but no real plans for today or tonight.

Hope you all have a great day!
