Have fun at the PowWow! I haven't been to one since I was in school. The last one I went to, the arbor was made with cedar boughs from our trees which I thought was so cool.
Big day, AMD. We are here for you. I know he would be so proud. Thinking of you tonight!
Thanks Crown! Happy Double Digits June!Good Morning, Friends!
Welcome to a new week. The first double-100's week of the 2019 countdown season.
So to kick us off, we start with the most recent figures:
Days to the Season: 156
Days to Christmas Day: 198
Yes, Folks. Thanks to Edge's careful stewardship, we successfully navigated into 100's territory yesterday in our Christmas Day count.
But any time a Milestone is reached and digested, we become hungry for the next marker and start to wonder what will be served.
So, let's check the menu:
It's marker number 10, Guys.
And -- get a tight grip now -- it's the HALF WAY POINT to Christmas Day.
How far away is it?
Try 16 days on for size. Two weeks from the day after tomorrow.
(Whew! This is too much too soon. Think I'll just move on to the weather without further comment!)
We got lucky at the coast on Saturday and had no rain as we completed cottage preperations. Sunday did see some, but it did not cause us problems.
We should be in for more rain today, followed by a dry day tomorrow, then more precipitation on Wednesday.
Right now, it is very soggy out but nothing is falling and we show a temperature reading of 73 degrees.
Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone.
And a great week ahead!
Prayers of thanks for all of those hero's who work in the ER. At times it must be horrifying. God bless them all.
On a lighter note, have a safe and wonderful vacation.
Having family members working in similar lines of work; I get that.
Takes a tough shell to keep at it with smiles for the next patient as if everything is okay and to shelf your emotions until you are able to let go.
Hope you have lots of fun and family time on your vacation.
God bless you, Sugar! I'll be praying for the family you mentioned and for your co-workers. {{{HUGS}}}
May you have and your family have a merry vacation!
God bless you and thank you for serving that family and every family that comes thru your doors. I can't be easy. But I sure do appreciate everyone in the health care profession.
As a chaplain (in a retirement community) and the wife of a chaplain (formerly trauma 1 hospital and now hospice), I have those days myself. I’m always glad for good coworkers and good time off to renew. Enjoy those 11 days!!! You’ve earned them for sure.
Thank you. It sure was tough and memorable. I took his car for one last ride and brought it through the car wash, remembering to take my music stick out so I can have it in my car for times when I get tired of Sirius radio or just to reflect on the variety of genres we enjoyed together over the years. I didn't realize how much stuff I had stored in his trunk. Moved it to mine, but some of it will have to come back upstairs to my large storage closet.
I left one of the large totes in the trunk so #1 son can bring it into the house to have ready for the Celebration in Ottawa in two weeks.
He was impressed with the condition of the car; it was a 2007 Hyundai Elantra and only has 14200 km on it. Plus I had filled it up about two weeks ago and hadn't driven it much since then so he had nearly a full tank of gas and windshield wiper fluid. I also left a windshield wand for rainy weather, a snow brush and an extension cord for plugging in the oil stick heater.
Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!
Wow, it has really rained here, with more coming through Wednesday. I work in an office trailer outside the main office, and this morning it's sticky inside. All the surfaces are moist, including the paper, and the doors won't shut. I'll be glad when our new office is built and I can move out of this trailer.
Elizabeth's last recital was as beautiful as ever, and she dance as wonderfully as ever. She's been dancing with some of these girls since she was three years old, so they were pretty emotional during the ceremony for the graduating dancers after the recital...then again in the lobby...then again at the restaurant. Bless her heart. But, she's planning to take some continuing tap lessons for a while. She says she'll need it for her theater major, but I think she just can't stay away. That's ok.
We're leaving for NYC Thursday morning. I can't say I'm looking forward to the 16 hour drive, but Nancy won't fly. We're planning to overnight in Virginia both ways, so it won't be too bad.
I hope y'all have a great day!![]()
I admire and am thankful for all the hard-working people in the medical and emergency fields who deal with such difficult situations on a regular basis. It takes a lot of heart and a lot of strength to do your job.I am thankful that DH is in a similar line of work, being a firefighter and an EMT, so he understands a good bit. It takes a very tough exterior to keep going - you got that right. We all get those 5 minutes or so, after the major events, where we may need 5 minutes or so to go cry it out, but then we have to keep going. We unfortunately don't have a choice. We have the next patient and family to help and you're right - usually it gets bottled up, it floods at some point.
Thanks very much, Auntie! I can't wait!
