Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

Wow, it was 68° this morning! That's almost unheard-of in south Georgia in August. I LOVE IT!!

Elizabeth spent her first night in her new place last night. It was really weird going to bed last night, not saying goodnight to her. Hmmm. I guess I'll get used to it. Anyway, the plan is for her to come home every weekend for the first year (since she's only 20 minutes away), so we can adjust slowly.

I'm just afraid Nancy will start focusing on me now!:D

I hope y'all have a great day! :)

Good morning and Happy Friday!
We had some crazy storms pass through last night, I just walked Rocky and it’s a mess out there. It’s going to be cloudy and cooler today, highs will be in the upper 70’s. I’m just having a cup of coffee right now and I’m working on a grocery list. I’m going to make a Target run in a little bit and stop at the butcher afterward. I’m also having lunch with my mother today. That’s about it. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!!!
xx
We had a flood at a local shore town. It was weird to see 4 out of the 5 local streets flooded with water. Last time I saw that was hurricane Sandy. That was a crazy storm years ago.

I had to get Michelle a dog to mother when our last child moved out. It was either the dog or me, and I already have a mother. :p;)

I gotta tell you all. This weekend in town looked like Black Friday. Every store in town was busy. The mall was packed. And the mall is never busy here. Every major retailer was doing very well this weekend. Schools have been back in session for three weeks now, so I know that wasn't the reason. It very much reminded me of Christmas shopping in December.

Happy Monday MMC ~
It’s going to be a nice day, sun and clouds with highs near 74 degrees. Definitely a bit cooler out there this morning. Rocky has a groomer appointment today. I’m going to run a couple of quick errands while he’s there. Back home afterward to work on some chores. I’m going to visit my parents later this afternoon, my father wasn’t feeling well yesterday so I want to see how he’s doing. I’m going to make a new soup recipe tonight, chicken cordon bleu soup. Sounds good, hopefully it tastes good! That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx
Hope everything will turn out okay for your parents.

We had so much fun tonight :)
I hope you enjoy what’s left of the weekend Meceka and have a great week ahead. Sending hugs!

This brought a smile to my face!

Thank you, my friend. I hope your week is even greater! Sending hugs back to you and all of your fur family! xx

Praying your father is better! {{{HUGS}}}

Well, Well, Well! Look what I saw at Crabtree Valley Mall this evening.
(Looks like we will be able to launch the Christmas Blossoms 2019 thread late next month in traditional style!)

There is a black cover over the entrance behind the door glass. What you are seeing is a reflection of what's across the hall. You cannot see into the store at all at this point, but I'll keep my eye out each time I go by.
(Maybe I'll get a sneak peek at some point!)
This is the earliest I can recall the store starting to set up here.
Nice to see a familiar mile marker pop up on the road to the season...+d

Just checking in ... keeping a low profile because I'm still in the doldrums. Not only hasn't the workload decreased, but now all employees are assigned to read a 260-page business book (provided by the head guy) and prepare a 3-minute presentation about it. Honestly, I can't see anyone in my department having time for that, as we're all working 9- to 10-hour days, and some even longer. I want my weekends free to try to recharge my physical and mental batteries. We had a few days' vacation, but the first day back at work, plus preparing for a medical procedure next week, have sort of canceled that out. The holidays are, sadly, starting to look like just more tasks added to the plate with other demands on time and energy. I'll be checking in every day as usual, but not posting much until I can spread some cheer.
Time to seek an alternative position? o_O

Face time might help you through this hurdle of empty nest syndrome.

We had a flashflood years ago and people plopped there kayaks onto the street - just photo ops really because the flooding wasn't entirely that bad, but the flooding at 3 of the 5 nearby reservations was devastating. I am far enough back from the creek and slightly elevated so I've been fortunate plus the conservation authority built up the bank about 4 years ago with slaps of rock and cement to save the erosion that also helps reduce the overflow.

I'll bet it will taste great if you're making it - I'm not one to follow recipes - just a little of this and that and see how it goes is my way of cooking. Hope your dad is okay.
