HMG sorry you couldn't take the job at the preschool after all. But family always comes first, I agree. I hope your father will continue to improve. Enjoy your day.

Sorry to hear your Dad is having issues...

It's great that you can be available to help out with your dad. I know they both appreciate you!

Sounds like you made a decision that will get you out of the house for a few hours and help your mom out and having extra time with your dad. It's great that you live so close.

Thank you so much xo

Tinseltown - Ottawa's year-round Christmas Store! ... I know it's cheating. When Kim and I went in yesterday, they had just received a new shipment. We're beyond excited to see it soon!

Here are a few photos:

Thanks for your pre-season photos, Brent!

Did anyone get by Starbucks for the pumpkin spice? I go every 15 minutes. It’s sooooooo Yabba!

I will not be trying the pumpkin spice beer. Might try a coffee blend.

::waveHappy Wednesday / Hump / Pines Day!:snowhappy

O'Malley tried to get me up at 4:15 and I reminded him that we can't go to the Pines until I get back from work.

He's eager to go; I guess Carl and O'Malley have something secial planned for the last summer gathering at the Shispering Pines - fired twinkies on the grill - what else is in store - time will tell.

Stay jolly!

Good morning ~
Merry Pines Day!
It’s going to be cloudy here today with scattered showers. As of right now it’s still dry out there so I’m going to take Rocky for a walk. My middle one is off today, she’s going to come with me to visit my parents. We plan on going to Trader Joe’s afterward to pick up a couple of things. Back home to work on chores. Dinner will be spaghetti & meatballs. That’s about it. I hope everyone has a great day. See you tonight!
xx

Good Morning, Peak-of-the-Week Peekers!

And as peekers, we naturally always have our eyes open for a sneak peek at the next Milestone marker so we can assess progress back to our long-awaited and much-coveted Season of choice.

Today's latest:
Days to the Season: 77
Days to Christmas Day: 119

And can our distance to the 100-DAY Christmas Day Window really be down to NINETEEN?
(Sure looks that way, doesn't it!)

A bit warmer and more humid yesterday, but still quite acceptable indeed for late August here in the south.
Today, the heat continues to creep up with a predicted high of 85 and a 20 percent chance of rain.
Presently, we see 73 degrees here in our sector of the fabulous MMC Nation.

Hey! You guys know by now what mid-week means.
Yep. The 'Pines. And a special one. It's the grand finale of Summer at our inn of choice. Last chance to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of our warmest season before the transformation to the exciting fall begins, which of course will symbolize the quickening pace toward the holidays!
Fired twinkies on the grille of course, as Auntie alluded to above. And skewers will be provided for those who want to toast their twinkies, marshmallow style.
Join us this evening for summer's swan song. No doubt Carl, with O'Malley's assistance, will send it out with a flourish!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!

Happy Pines day!!
My daughters are back to school today!...senior and 8th grader! Time flies by so quickly. My oldest had to be at the school for 5:30am..on the first day of school is the "First Day Festival". Classes are shortened and they have a pep rally, inflatables and food trucks. She was on the committee so they had to make sure all was running smoothly. I'm sure she will be tired when she gets home later.
Hope you all have a great day!

Thanks Crown! Happy Final Pines Day of August!

Good Wednesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

We've been touring customers through the plant today, and another group tomorrow.

It's hot again. And it's going to rain all weekend while that tropical storm passes through. Well, three wet days off are still three days off, right?

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Thanks for your pre-season photos, Brent!
You're welcome, Crown. I couldn't contain my excitement for all of those photos. From now on, I am going to keep the rest in my cannon for a special time. :)

Nineteen days until the 100-Day Christmas Day Window sounds great, but the grand finale of summer brings me mixed emotions. Either way, it's always a great time at the 'Pines!

Wow! The Pines is hopping tonight.
I had to step outside to cool down and catch my breath.
Well, gotta get back in there. If I stay out here too long, Edge is going to steal my drink again.

A packed Inn once again to wrap up the summer theme gatherings at the Shispering Pines.

It looked like a beach party from the days of Frankie and Annette's Beach Blanket Bingo Days.

Carl and O'Malley the cat did a great job with the entertainment, but only Carl can take credit for the food and drinks and the monogrammed beach towels.

Acting out If it Were Christmas was a great lead up to the events and merry make over that the Inn will see next Wednesday as we gather for the first Wednesday of the "bers".

If It Were Christmas! By Auntie Mistletoe (adapted from Topol’s - If I Were A Rich Man from: Fiddler on the Roof) as performed by Carl and O'Malley

If it were closer to Christmas
Daidle, deedle, daidle, digguh,
Digguh, deedle, daidle, dum
All day long, I’d decorate our Inn
If it were closer ho, ho, hum.

Wouldn’t have to trim the tree much
Daidle, deedle, daidle, digguh,
Digguh, deedle, daidle, dum
I’d bake some cookies and pies
Hang the lights for the evening skies.
I’d build a big tall snowman with a top hat
And all sorts of frills and things like that
A fine broomstick and perhaps a friend
Who knows where the mistletoe be at

I’d fill my yard with ferris wheels, festive wooden soldiers
A Christmas village and a Nativity - perhaps
I’d build one snow fort for the grandkids to play in
It’d be warm with hot cocoa to serve and gingersnaps

I wouldn’t have to wait much
Santa would be arriving soon
I would wrap gifts by the dozen
Right in the middle of the living room
With ribbons and bows and pretty paper
And special festive tags to match

The people in the town would come to me and wonder
Where’d she get the Christmas spirit from - ours seem under wrap
And how’d she manage to play music from her computer
Piping it out in the streets for all to hear while trying to nap
And amazingly they’d gaze at the revolving Merry-Go-Round
Taking them back to childhood joys and awe

I would watch Christmas movies all night
Daidle, deedle, daidle, digguh
Digguh, deedle, daidle, dum
This would be the sweetest thing of all

We were just missing Jayish in his tutu dancing to Madonna's Walking Around in Merry Underwear.

Think I had too many cranberry rum balls - but what a fun time!

Keep it jolly! +a

Good Morning ... Temps and humidity seem to be on a roller coaster but thankfully they are not as hot. I cant wait for the cooler crisp air to arrive and stay.I bought some new fall decorations earlier this week and plan on buying new garland for the porch today. Can't wait to start decorating for fall but I like to wait until after school starts which is next week. Hope everyone has a great day
