Christmas Countdown - 2019

'Tis Friday - my three-day weekend begins today.

The weather folk are calling for rain today, hope it's not too heavy for my 4 hour drive. Just checked my main route and no rain expected to the towns and cities along the way and none for the weekend where I'm heading. Should be a nice drive.

Cat tried to wake me at 3:45, but I held off until 4:45. I was hoping to sleep until 5:30, but I went to bed early so I should feel wide awake and rested and alert for my drive.

Yesterday, I stopped for the flashing lights of my first school bus since last spring. Most of our buses have cameras to monitor rider behaviour and there's a push to have cameras to catch drivers who fail to obey the law and stop for the flashing lights in both directions (unless it's a divided hwy). Currently the buses with rural pick ups have cameras installed.

Happy First Friday of September MMC! We made it! TGIF! A TGIF during the Bers seems even better than a Non-Bers TGIF. But I tell you 4 day weeks seem long so imagine all the 5 day weeks ahead? Yikes. But at least we made it to this Friday. And we have a Bers weekend. Hope Crown's power is ok. Have a great First Friday of September!

Merry Friday MMC!
Its going to be cloudy here today with scattered showers, highs near 68 degrees. I’m going to take Rocky for a walk soon while it’s still dry out there. I’m just having my coffee right now and I am working on a menu plan and grocery list. I have plans to visit my parents at some point and I’m going to stop at the butcher as well. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. My husband is getting together with some friends tonight to play their guitars so it will just be me and my daughter, we’re going to order take out for dinner. Just have to figure out what we want. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!!!

GM MMC and Happy Friday!
My older daughter has a soccer game this afternoon and my youngest is having a couple of friends sleepover. Other than that no real plans for the weekend. We may go to a friend's house on Sunday for football. My husband is already planning on making ribs and buffalo wings.

And Weekend Eve is quite an exciting experience each week, isn't it?
But we have other excitement to look forward to each day!

For example:
Days to the Season: 68
Days to Christmas Day: 110

And the 100-Day Christmas Day Window, our next Milestone?
Well, that's SINGLE DIGITS away as of tomorrow!

Very minor problems here from Dorian. Some rain and moderately gusty winds. The power went out three times, but all is OK now. Will have to await reports from the beach, but the storm weakened to a CAT 1 by the time it brushed by and the center never crossed the coastline.
Today starts still overcast and very damp indeed, but it should clear up by about noon or so.
Our present temp is 70 degrees here in the wet capital city.

Good Friday morning! It's the start of a 4-day weekend for me. Planning on doing some-de-cluttering and some relaxing too. I have a few errands to run today while David will be attending his ergo and physio appointments later this morning and my in-laws are coming over later this afternoon.

We had a bad surprise when we came home from work yesterday. Being on the third floor of an apartment building, we leave our windows open when it's a sunny day, to get fresh air through the place. But yesterday workers next door apparently were cutting bricks without any dust control system in place, so when we got home, our kitchen was full of construction dust. How fun it is having to clean your kitchen after a long work day. Windows closed from now on if we see any construction nearby.

I reallt wish they would put cameras on all school buses and charge peoplewho don't follow the law. Just recently a reporter here rode a bus for a day and the number of cars that did not stop when the bus flashing lights and stop sign were on was infuriating.

Lost a dear resident who knew my grandmother whom I never met today. A bit sad, so friends are coming over for dinner.

I am so thankful for the fall weather, for the Dorian storm staying far enough away from us inland, and for a beautiful apple spice candle lit in our home. Going to the local university’s football game this weekend and very excited! Fall is here!!

I hope you all have had wonderful weeks and are looking forward to a great weekend!

Good morning, MMC and Happy Friday! Heading out to do some shopping with my mom and sister this morning/afternoon. DH is going to get all of our outside fall decorations and will take care of all that, so our home should soon be all ready for fall!

Not much else planned for the day! DH works night shift tonight and will head in at 430 pm, so the kids and I will have a pretty low key evening. Hope you all have a great day!

Phase one of our church chapel refurb is coming along, but will not be completed until mid - October. It was supposed to be finished up by the end of August, but lighting, and some other items, are on backorder.

No matter, Traditional worship will still go on, Sunday morning. Chairs are being put in place, today, other makeshift moves will be made, and it will all be cleared out again afterwards, so that construction may resume Monday. We have some amazing people making this all happen as if it is completely commonplace.

Two more Summers to make phases two and three come to life...

Worked an early shift so I can get ready for my departure tomorrow morning.

Have some family business to take care of out of town.

My dad was thinking of coming along and visiting my brother, but he has his handy man returning over the weekend so he opted out.

I'll have Sirius 60's on 6 and 70's on 7 to keep me company on the highway.

Not sure if I'm returning on Saturday or Sunday.

O'Malley will be well stocked with two litter boxes and three feeding and water stations just in case.

I'll pop in over coffee and breakfast in the morning.
