Good Merry Morning -mistletoe-Monday work adventures await!

Late start on here this morning as I was multi-tasking on searches and forum pages, I got hit with a virus message, but I doubted the validity of it because it was asking me to download and pay for a repair kit. The security software I have does that for me at no additional cost so I was quite skeptical.

Turns out I was correct not to be scared by the alarm sound and threat of virus needing repair because when I ran my own scan, there was nothing found.

Nice try scammers. Wish I could remember what site I was on so I don't go there again. Maybe I'll check my history later.

I'll likely have to play catch up after dinner tonight.

Stay merry; stay bright! -lights-

Merry Monday MMC!
It’s going to be cloudy today with temperatures in the mid to upper 60’s. Not too much going on here, I have a chiropractor appointment this morning and I’m going to stop at Target afterward if I feel up to it. Other than that I’ll be working on my daily chores. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!
xx

Merry Monday!
Looks like we will have a partly cloudy day. The people down the street put up their Halloween decorations with orange lights..it looks great. I will try to snap a pic. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning Festive Friends!
And it's a good time to feel festive as we rapidly approach the Home Stretch on our journey to Christmas Season 2019.

We have a brand new set of numbers to start a brand new week, so let's get to them right away:
Days to the Season: 44
Days to Christmas Day: 86

And we have now advanced to within ONE WEEK of our final pre-Season Milestone, that marker being the NINETY PERCENT point to day one of our long-awaited and much-coveted Christmas Season.
(A great way to start the week!)

We set a record high heat figure for yesterday's date, reaching 96 degrees by afternoon. It did not feel quite that hot though since the humidity was not overly high.
Today will see a 10 degree drop to the mid-80's before we start to heat up again, and we will be back to the mid 90's by Wednesday.
Our present reading here in the capital city is 74 degrees.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everybody!

Hello everyone! We just returned from a week in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. My husband and I went with my mom and her best friend (my Godmother.) They are both 75 and have been friends since the 5th grade! The four of us went there in 2016 before my Dad got sick. When he passed earlier this year, my mom said it was the one place she wanted to return to, so off we went! The weather was absolutely beautiful all week, the ocean was great, I filled up on lots of seafood; however, the mosquitos were the WORST I have ever seen them! Silly us, out first night we had our lights on (of course) and were going in and out off the balcony, and when we went to bed we found 24 on our ceiling! Needless to say I couldn't sleep until my husband could show me their dead little carcasses. Despite those crazy bugs, I love the outer banks and was very happy to make the trip but I am also happy to be back home. That is, until I saw our weather. 92 on Tuesday and 64 on Friday? Welcome back to Ohio I guess! Hope everyone is doing well!
Glad you enjoyed (for the most part) our beautiful Outer Banks. Did you visit the Cape Hatteras lighthouse?

Good morning MMC!!!

I see from all the posts that it must be Fall now. I saw a report of SNOW with below freezing temperatures and Sunny and 97 degrees. o_O

And then there's Ohio and the rest of the Midwest. High's in the 90's one day and then 50's and 60's a few days later. They have crazy weather there.

We're still just HOT here in Georgia. But it will cool down to very warm this weekend. I'm looking forward to it. :)

I wish you all a blessed and joyous Monday.

Thanks Crown! Happy End of September!

One house in our town has a great lawn display ... two life-size skeletons in a graveyard, sitting by a campfire. One has a can of Coke in its hand, the other one is toasting marshmallows! I have to smile whenever I drive by it.

Yep! It’s going to be 92 here the next 3 days and then 64 on Friday. Which I’m grateful for since our towns big festival is the weekend.

We didn't visit the lighthouse this year, but we did in 2016 when we were there. We went to all of the lighthouses during the 2016 trip as well as a visit to Ocracoke Island, which I LOVED! Sadly, this year, we couldn't visit Ocracoke this year because of all of the hurricane damage. We usually stay in Duck but this year we stayed in Corolla. Such a beautiful place!!!

Ohio does have crazy weather! Just this week we will have a high of 91 on Tuesday and a low of 46 on Friday. Craziness!!!

Hilli-Ho my Merry Chums! +a -santa dance-

Up and at it early. Not really the cats fault, although he tried his best to get me up at 2:00 a.m. and I had a bit of trouble falling back asleep.

To be honest, I'm excited about two different vacations I have coming up and the plans are keeping my mind active when it should be offering up dreams instead.

I have to make my homemade fudge shortly so it will be ready to drop off at 9:00 for the fundraiser for a part-time paramedic who doesn't receive benefits and is battling cancer.

They are calling it a Pumpkin Fest; I don't have any pumpkin flavour for my fudge, but I will be adding salted caramel chips to the chocolate mixture and some dried citrus peel and that should make it feel Fall-ish.

Stay jolly! -surprise-

Prayers flying for your friend's speedy recovery....:)

Happy First Weekend of Autumn MMC! Can't believe how fast September has been going now. This is the last weekend for shorts here. We should be near 80 today. Next weekend, by the looks of it, we may not be much above 60! Time to get the long pants out again. I'll enjoy this weekend first. Have a great First Weekend of Autumn!
80+ degrees, today, but back down to the 50s through Sunday.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 0 (-17) outside this morning. Will warm up to 14 (57) this afternoon.

I still have the windows open a two inches and no heat on yet; finding it a wee bit chilly. I usually don't turn the heat on until after October 1st. I could throw a robe on, but I'm not really that cold, just my arms.

Rough sleep; Christmas, concerts, old neighbours, songs, cat, work, tinnitus and just too much on the brain.

Not much planned for today, going to enjoy my last "feed" of corn on the cobb today. Having it with some diced sweet potatoes and walnuts on the side.

I have some chores to do -defrosting my freezer and a bit of cleaning.

Making rainbow pasta with Rose sauce later to warm up for a few lunches during the week.

Finally found a pair of shoes that fit so I can head back to the fitness centre. It's been too long, I need to get back at it.

I think the fundraising event went well; I also delivered a glass blown lamp with a white/cream shade and blue polka dots near the bottom for their Black Tie affair coming up in a few weeks as an auction item. The paramedic was given six months to live so the fundraising is to help cover the cost of the funeral and medical costs as well as hopefully providing some financial relief to his wife and children. The lamp is valued at $100.00, but I got it for $38.00.

Good chat with my dad last night; texts with the boys and one brother.

Ran into a former co-worker who is still undergoing chemo and radiation treatments. They got the cancer, the rests is precautionary and she'll be finished before Christmas. She looked really good all things considered. She has a caring husband and two young children. We had corresponded via private message on FB a few times, but this is the first time we ran into each other since my husband passed away. She was hugging me for that and I was hugging her for all she's going through.

I didn't spot too much Christmas stuff, but lots of Fall and Halloween things are out.

I picked up two snuggly plush wrap blankets with hoods for each of the granddaughters for Christmas at Giant Tiger; one red and one blue with white reindeer prints. Those will go with their large oil paintings on canvas (horses / dogs), plus two souvenirs from Nova Scotia and a new board game. Too large to ship so I'll have to make a trip which is good because I have two weeks off over the Christmas holidays.

:ornarment Have a super Sunday and stay jolly! :lightman
We've given the furnace a handful of cycles already this season. It got down to 64 degrees indoors and that was cool enough, and then some.

It's only September 29th and we're being dumped on by snow here in Calgary. It started last night and is supposed to continue until late morning on Monday. Apparently we're looking at around 40-50cm by the time it stops coming down tomorrow. I wanted to enjoy Fall, not winter yet! It's definitely too early for snow.
You're not alone. Parts of the U.S. Rockies got 24 inches of wet, heavy, tree limb breaking slop too.

For the past 2 months, I've kind of lost my sense of excitement for the upcoming Christmas season. But today, I think it may be returning. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas make for a great final three months of the year. Tomorrow is October 1st, and I just saw that Hocus Pocus will be on Freeform. And then I got to thinking... It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown will be coming on TV soon. That right there got my heart all excited for the three upcoming holidays. Tonight I'll get the Halloween decorations out of the attic and tomorrow we'll decorate. This is going to be great!!!

I'm glad to hear you didn't have a virus.
If you ever figure out what site caused the problem I hope you let us know which one it was so that we can avoid it.

I hope you do a backup of your system. Way back at work some hacker locked up the system and demanded to be paid to release it. They didn't pay them. They just went to the backup copy and rebuilt from there.

I hope you have a great day. :D

I climbed the Hatteras light way back in 1971 before they renovated and moved it. Wouldn't attempt that again, now!

I'll grumble for the rest of the year because the temps will be higher than I want in SoCal for the holiday season. We're decorated for Autumn, but we're not huge fans of Halloween. Or at least the Trick-Or-Treaters part. *ugh**.

We don't do too much exterior decorating for Christmas, but do quite a bit inside including having four trees. The decor will be moved from the Christmas Shed (nick named the North Pole) Saturday November 2.
