Good Tuesday Morning, Relentless Pursuers!
Yes, Folks. We relentlessly pursue Christmas and its Wonderful Season year long.
And the pursuit is beginning now to draw to a close as the latest figures bear out.

Days to the Season: 8 (ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 23 (Three weeks from the day after tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 50 (Seven weeks from tomorrow!)
The gap narrows by the day!

Coolish yesterday, but about right for raking and leaf blowing. (And our trees are providing me ample opportunity for both.)
Should be fairly nice until the weekend, with highs in the mid to upper 60's, but then we are are looking at subfreezing over night lows with highs in the 40's by the middle of next week.
Presently, our day is commencing here in central NC at 52 degrees.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, One and All!
Thanks Crown!! Have a great day and no jumping in the leaf piles.

I think I'm the only weirdo that loves when it gets dark by 5pm. Actually my mom and brother love it too so it must be a family thing! The early nighttime reminds me that the holidays are here. Plus, for as much work as we put into decorating the house with outdoor lights and decorations, it would be sad to only be able to see them from 7or 8 until it got dark every night. At least the way it is now, if you decorate your house outside you can enjoy those lights (and all the neighborhood lights) for hours every night! I'm trying to find the silver lining for everyone who doesn't like the switch! As for me, I think I just find it cozier when it is dark. Like I said, I am a weirdo! :)
I enjoy the drive home during this time of the year. The lights are on in the houses as I pass through residential areas, and it reminds me of all the families in those homes. Probably getting home from work and school. Sitting down together for dinner and getting ready to spend the evening with each other. And I’m on my way home so that I can do the same with my family. Love it!

Morning MMC!! Our day is starting out kinda soggy here and windy. The days are counting down and every time I walk in the house I can almost smell turkey roasting!! Had a idea that they make every scented candle imaginable. Maybe somebody could make up a turkey dinner candle?!
Well apparently at some point Yankee Candle made such a turkey dinner candle, but can’t find it on their website anymore.

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

Nancy and I walked around town for an hour (in the dark!), trying to get back in the habit of some exercise combined with time together. Our walking path is limited by those house with big dogs that she's afraid of. I have to say, one of our neighbors has six German shepherds that he releases from his back yard at dark, and they are pretty intimidating. Another neighbor stopped to talk while we were walking, and he was complaining about those dogs, too. Ah, the troubles of small town life.

I'm taking mom to a doctor's appointment in Jacksonville in the morning, but we should be back early.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Wow; I felt a twinge when I got up from a kneeling position tying the laces on my boots. HaHa
Wow! I went flying backwards over the two foot floor hockey boards, landed on my rear, assured a player that I was fine, and got back in the game. You might have suffered an all out twang from that exercise.;)

Happy Tuesday guys. I am happy that we are now under 50 days to go. I wish i had a happier personal update for you like i normally do. I need to ask a favor. I know that i have only known you guys for a few months now, but today I need to ask you for prayers.

My 6 year old ACD chipped her front tooth a few years back, and we had her looked at by our vet, who said to watch it for any worrying signs / etc.. Flash forward to a month ago, and my wife and I noticed that there is a little soft pink bump right behind the tooth on the top of her mouth. The tooth is also slightly discolored, and is loose. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, she is still playful and she eats all of her food and acts normal. But my wife and I wanted to rule out anything more serious like canine cancer or any of that. So she is going to vet today at 2:30 PM.

I haven't been able to sleep hardly the whole night, and even now my stomach is turning in anxiety, i could barely keep my coffee down. I apologize for putting a downer on the always positive spin on these boards. But i really feel like the more prayers the better. Thank you all for hearing my story, and I really hope that this evening i have a good update for you all.

Your friend,

Mark

Prayers going up!

I was taking my boots off and stepped awkwardly backwards and nearly pulled my calf muscle. Haha

I'm heading back to the gym on the weekend.

Well apparently at some point Yankee Candle made such a turkey dinner candle, but can’t find it on their website anymore.

A merry hoarder living in a remote cabin in the woods, bought the lot of them - well, that's my jolly take on the situation. Turkey, stuffing and gravy combined is a good smell.

When I was little and walked my dog around my large city block; I would stop two houses away from the one we were going to hurry passed. There were two Siamese cats that liked to rest on the cement wall that separated the driveway and garage from the stairs and yard. After Lady and the Tramp; I thought all Siamese cats were nothing, but trouble. I was okay with the dogs on our route, just not those darn cats. HaHa

Sneaking in over dinner and heading out shortly to my meeting.

Weather here was weird today; sunny for half the day, overcast the rest and during the sunny moment, we had a hail storm.

It is cooling off now, but no rain expected until later tonight.

Enjoy the rest of your night. -surprise-

Mark, I'm praying that all will be well after the vet appointment. My dog had gastritis and spent the day at the vet yesterday. I prayed that he would be OK. I believe in the power of prayer so I'm also praying for you and your wife. Please let us know.

THANK YOU ALL WHO PRAYED FOR US! MY DOG IS OKAY!!

The bump on her gum is called an "epulis", and the vet told us that it was non-cancerous / benign. As long as it doesn't get bigger (there has been no change in size the past month), or get infected or cause issues, he says it is fine to leave. If they ever were to have to do surgery, it is done with a laser and done under general anesthetic, and we would get her back the same day. He told us it was a super easy procedure. So they noted the size of it, and will examine it again next September when she goes back for her yearly shots, just to see if there is any change.

Thank you all so much who prayed and sent positive stuff our way! Now i can get back to continuing to decorate for Christmas!!!

Hello all.
For those who have followed the health and info for my mother-in-law, I want to say thank you.
Sadly, she passed away today after taking a bad turn on Saturday. She will be missed by all, there is no doubt. She was a very wonderful and kind woman with an infectious smile and laugh.

Thanks again for all of the kind thoughts and prayers.

Sympathies go out to your wife and your family. May she be received into that place where there is no pain, but life eternal.
Blessings - HIB
