So I did it. I braved the crazy grocery store this morning and picked up everything I think we will need for Thanksgiving next week. Basically, if I didn't buy it today, we aren't having it! My plan is to stay away from all public places now! There is a norovirus going around ( my brother, his girlfriend, and their 3 kids all have it right now!) and with my health issues, I'll get it way worse so I am doing a voluntary quarantine! Which is fine by me! I plan on stocking my freezer by baking pumpkin bread today for the next month (I give away around 8 loaves every year along with cookies and fudge) and I want to get a start on it. I will also be cheering on my Buckeyes today! I hope everyone has a safe and great day! Enjoy the weekend!

Hope the all feel better!

Good evening all! Just got done watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the 1966 cartoon version. I love Christmas TV like that. It really gets me in thE holiday spirit. I like the Hallmark movies, but when stuff like this starts coming on TV, that’s when I start really getting excited. Hope you’re all having a great evening!

Good morning all! Work weekend here. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood was a fantastic movie. Tom Hanks did a wonderful job portraying Fred Rodgers. It was one of the best movies I’ve seen in years. I really recommend seeing it! Hope you all enjoy the day! Go Nittany Lions!
Thanks for the recommendation. We're going to go see it Monday.

It's Super Card Exchange Wrap Up Sunday -list-

I am enjoying a mug of hot chocolate and after catching up on here and having a bite of breakfast, I am getting back to the cards. I only have 30 ready to go so far.

I did more gift wrapping yesterday. Drove the cat crazy because I didn't let him assist nor did I offer him a gift bag to nap on top of as he loves the shiny ones because his fur doesn't stick to it.

I am hoping I can squeeze in a visit with my dad, but it will likely be tomorrow.

The photo magnet I had done for my cousin of me dressed up as Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables, who had carrot red hair growing up, turned out great. I'll be adding that to her Christmas card.

My focus today is on the cards heading overseas and to the U.S. and then I'll focus on Canadian friends and family.

My brother and father tried to call it quits on the gift-giving the year after my mom died, but they didn't get away with it. I wasn't doing Christmas for my mom; it was for everyone.

I notice that my brothers pile grew over time so a few items will be as a house warming gift instead of Christmas so he doesn't feel like I went overboard because we agreed not to spend too much.

I actually picked up 3 things for my other brother, we haven't exchanged gifts since 2002 as his kids were getting older and he needed a bit more money to make their Christmas merrier.

I guess I can give it to him for his birthday at the end of January so he doesn't feel like he should have done something for me.

The across the creek neighbour added her Christmas tree to the outdoor decorations. If there weren't so many trees in the way, I could snap a photo. It gives the illusion of a small full width Christmas tree, but in the daylight you can see that it's a metal frame of a tree with lights all over it. I think her son and daughter made it for her; they are the ones who did up the Happy New Year sign for me last year.

Noir Noel, the brown bat, is still enjoying the comfort of his secret hideout; I checked the 14-day forecast and the weather won't be too bad; it doesn't dip down to -15 until Dec. 7th & 8th and that's with the windchill.

Happy Pre-Thanksgiving Week MMC! I know this is weird to say on a Sunday but I'm excited for Monday. This is my favorite week of the year coming. But today we have a rainy day. I got all of my errands done so we're ready for Thanksgiving. Spending the evening at my Uncle's tonight. Have a great Pre-Thanksgiving Week!

Enjoy the visit with your dad when you do get to go. Happy cad writing!

Good Sunday morning! This is my last day of vacation this year and it will be all about decorating for Christmas! We’re getting some chores and laundry out of the way first and after Loki’s walk we’ll get started. We took out our dancing/singing Santa and Snoopy yesterday and Loki was all excited. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Merry Sunday MMC ~
Not too much going on here this morning. It’s going to be a cold and rainy day. I’m just having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes. I have plans to visit my daughter and her husband at some point but other than that I think the day will be spent decorating. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xx

Merry Sunday, Everyone.

I'm just about ready to go out the door to church. Then errands.

A lady in my building is very sick and I plan on making her and her husband beef stew this afternoon. She is so tiny and supposed to be gaining weight. She is 88 and her husband is 98. They both play cards in our Friday afternoon group. They are well off financially but have had many tragedies in their lives. She lost both daughters, at a young age, to cancer. He is a retired NYS police officer and lost one of his sons to drugs and is estranged from the other because of drug use. The lady told me she hates Christmas because it's just too sad to think about without her daughters. She has one son but they don't speak and she never told me why. Please pray for them and pray that, somehow, she and her son will reconcile. She does keep in touch with her adult grandson. He is deployed overseas but visits when he is back in the states.

Happy Sunday!
I am having some coffee and relaxing. Looks like a rainy day so we will probably just relax today and we are going to a friend’s house for dinner. My oldest hasn’t really been out of the house too much with her surgery so it will do her good and she goes back to school tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great day!

A Good Holiday Season Morning to one and all!

And the holidays are really hoppin' as we close in on Thanksgiving!

Today's figures:
Days to Thanksgiving: 4 (Barely over HALF a week left!)
Days to Christmas Day: 31 (One month from TOMORROW!)
(Wow!)

Sure enough, it cooled off yesterday and the rain fell for most of the day. No way to get any outside work done, but a perfect day to watch our annual Raleigh Christmas parade on TV.
I actually prefer the Raleigh parade to the Macy's one because it's more of a real parade rather than a Broadway musical show.
Today should be clear but a bit on the chilly side, with highs in the mid 50's.
Tomorrow though, will start a string of three days in the 60's.
Our present reading is 50 degrees here and it's a bit windy.

Have a Super Sunday, Folks!
Enjoy your NFL game of choice today.
