It's been a while!

Well, I was sick for weeks. I thought the cough would never go away.
(I e-mailed Sunbeam on the coffeemaker, and they sent me a new one.)
However.....since my sinus infection I have injured my knee.
Last Saturday I'd apparantly forgotten that I'm 49 and was listening to Linkin Park (Bleed It Out) and decided to dance around my house with the dogs and was head banging, and twirling, and we were having a grand ole time, and my knee went pop and I hit the floor. I tried to stand and went down again. Hubby came home and took me to the ER. I was x-rayed and put in an immobilizing thing and given crutches.
Well...........Thursday I'm walking into work and my crutches get tangled on of the mats that we have at the counter to catch water when people stand there, and down I went.
I didn't want to smash my knee....so instead, I smashed my face. I have a beautiful black eye.
Needless to say, this past week has been spent mostly in bed. I was out of work Monday, but the rest of the days went to bed pretty much right after getting home. I've gone to the doctor so many times this week my insurance company must be going crazy! (I'm also back on BP and cholesterol meds, he really was upset with me for having taken myself off them.)
A good thing has happened though, too!
I have a new grandchild born March 10. Our first grandson. (We have six granddaughters.) His name is Keegan Scott. I have not even seen him yet. I had doctor appointments after work while they were still in the hospital and he is home now, but they live in an upstairs apartment and there is no way I can make it up those stairs!!!!
This grandma really wants to see her new grand-baby!!!!!
They plan to come over this week and bring him. Yay.

Sorry you've had such a painful time of it. The thing that hits me most about your story is the fact that you're only 49 with 7 grandchildren

Good grief!!!!!!!!!! How old were you when you got married - 12???!!!!!!

.....Ode from a Camel (As told to Auntie Mistletoe from Carl the Camel by way of a Camel Whisperer)

The obvious plan
To frolic wherever I can.
To dream and to be
To dance ‘cause I’m free
To travel around
Where caffeine is found
To socialize with friends
Where the fun never ends
That is the obvious plan.
.....
Carl is so happy! He's now a published Camel.
That, plus the pending opera chapter due later today has Carl all worked up.
(Things will really be hoppin' at the Shispering Pines today!)

Good Morning!

Since this is a Milestone Day, let's get straight to the count:
Days to the Season: 243
Days to Christmas Day:285
Yes, that's right! The 1/3 Season Milestone has arrived!
Hard to believe - a third of the way back to our glorious Christmas Season already. My, My, My!
What's next, you ask?
Why, the 1/4 Christmas Day Marker - only 11 days away, on March 26. WOW!

Once again cold and rainy here this morning, where we stand at 44.
Tomorrow should be our last day for the wet stuff and Tuesday/Wednesday are supposed to be clear and warmer, possibly 70 by the latter day.
That will be worth getting up early for (almost!).

Have a Super Sunday, Friends!
May the spirit of the Season be with you today and always.

Hahaha....that´s what my mom says when my brother told her about his wife´s first pregnancies....that was in 2003....she turned 46 shortly after my niece was born....so she´s a quite young grandma too...

I have a story that has both of yours beat. My brother's friend is a grandfather at 32! I think that's his age anyway. He may be slightly older or younger but, he's not older than 35. He and his wife when they were dating had their first child while they were in high school. I think his wife was 15 when she was pregnant. Now their daughter (first born) just had a baby at 14. Talk about being too young. They have 2 other children besides their oldest daughter and now they have a grandchild as well.

this sounds like something from one of those slap stick comedy routines! Except that it really is not funny :-?
Hope you feel better soon and congrats on the new grand son!

THE OPERA.. PART XXX

Act One:

Opens with a scene of a village- the villagers all gather in the Town Sqaure- enter Jayish who dances a paus du lux while mayor Maureen sings the aria" Plaid: It's not just a hobby but a way of life..." The villagers all get excited at Jay's dancing and begin throwing noodles at him. Auntie enters and sings the aria" ahhhh. Pasta..."- and picks up each noodle- and begins cooking them in a vat annoucing that later, the village will be fed using Jay's tossed leiderhosen as a strainer. Christmas Granny as mayor enters and announces ( via aria) that at dinner, Jayish will debut a new dance which is entitled the official slogan of the New Jersey Tourist Industry: Come Back to New Jersey: We Weren't Shooting at You.." the curtain closes as the villagers all rejoice and head for the pasta line: end.. act one:

Act Two
Curtain opens to see Track Rebel attemtping to post bulletins all over town in a desire to break a world record.. he sings the aria:" 4,000 is possible and then.. double digits.." he then stumbles upon a set of furniture (placed near Crown's home.. we see in the background with NEON flashing..- inlcuding a shape which is apparently a CAMEL seen dancing to " I will survive" the golden disco classic) Santa's helper enters and sings the aria" Oh what a beautifukl morning.. oh what a beautiful IKEA semi-hard veneer wood wardrobe...with matching smei-pegged plaster of paris mathcing bedroom suite... and at that precise moment, we see Jayish enter and attempt to dance a paus du lux around the furniture... he then stumbles and is in great agony. Binger enters and offers to pour warm coffee on his back ( via aria they sing this and it is apparent that it is a GREAT sacrifice.. though they are willing to do it..)- Crown enters and through an aria we see that it is THEIR EVIL motive to hurt Jayish.. and via an aria announces the pasta paus du lux/New jersey perforamce is over and instead, there will be a sub performance of IKEA: THE MUSICAL.. as performed by Holiday Honey and the All Kroger Supermarket Choir. the villagers are depressed and we see them throwing basketballs at Crown as the curtain closes. End act two...

ACT Three Finale;

Opens with Christmas Star and Santa's Helper both sobbing and collapsing into a heap as they have just wintessed IKEA: The Musical..and without jayish's Paus Du Lux.. the show brings tears to their eyes.. not in emotion but in boredom... we see in the background Crown grinning wildly as they sleep against CARL THE CAMEL and eyeballing the horrific IKEA furniture. Jayish limps in and attempts a paus du lux, only it is obvious his heart and backbone just isn't into it. Then, in one of the most moving moment's EVER in opera history, we see Maureen using her magical powers to weave a combined plaid leiderhosen slingshot, wherein hundreds of pieces of crappy funiture are hurled at Crown, one of which hits them on their head - awakening them..wherein they have a change of heart and announce via aria that they are going to drain Carl's third hump of the magical coffee ( we see Binger standing nearby sobbing..) to be used as a magical potion to cure Jayish's bad back and the performance of New Jersey will proceed as planned. The villagers all rejoice and are seen amassing on the New Jersey Turnpike cheering and shooting their guns wildly into the air.. as the curtian closes.

end>

My My..I think I outdid myself this time....

YABBA

:hello: Wow! It's only a bit after 3pm and I've been to the Opera!

Hurray! Bravo, bravissimo, brava!

we need 7 more posts for our goal for the day.... come on chatters...

YABBA

What an amazing tribute to opera - yet again, Binger beats Wagner hands down. Who needs Valkyrie when we have Ikea furniture, leiderhosen slingshots and noodles??!!!!!!

Wonderful (applauding) just wonderful!
Binger, I agree, you did out-do yourself! Take a bow.
cheesy
I became a mom at 20, and a grandma at 40. My husband and I have 8 children. (Three are his, and five are mine.) Two of my children each have two kids, and his oldest has three.
His two sons and grandkids live about 4 hours away, so unfortunately, we don't see them anywhere near often enough.
Our children are: 29, 28, 27, 25, 24, 23, 23, & 20.
(His are in blue, mine are in pink.)

This evening I took down my last outdoor Christmas decoration, a faux-birchwood cross with "Noël", snow, and a cardinal on it. It was next to my door. Monday brings springtime weather to where I live. Sort of sad, though. The sky may be blue and the sun is shining, but everything else below it is brown and dirty looking. This neither-here-nor-there season is my least favorite time of year.

I still have my poinsettia tablecloth on my table. Does that count as one of the last decorations?

:merry:

Plus, I could never do a pas de deux or Whatever because I now have to have surgery on my heel. The shot would not do it. I have to admit that green or red will not work for a cast for me. It has to be hot pink--my favorite color!!!
