Good morning, my Christmas friends! Here's to the great day that lies ahead of us. Going to be a hot one here....round 95...but this afternoon they are calling for 2 inches of rain (on top of the 5.5 inches we have received the past 5 days). My flowers are doing great, but my yard is getting high....wish is would dry up so I could cut that grass before I have to bring in the cattle to trim it down.

Well....gotta go get ready for work....have a great day!

Good morning all.......hazy, hot and HUMID here already this morning......Makes me long for the nice cool, crisp fall days......they can not get here fast enough!

We bought a new grill over the weekend and fired it up for the first time last night. LOVE grilling. Our other grilled flamed up where it was not suppose to and the whole front of the grill is burned and one of the knobs melted off. That grill was only 4 yrs old. Needless to say we bought a different brand of grill. I like the new grill so much more then the other one.

Have a nice day all....

We don't even have kids & I always dread back to school!! LOL!!! My stomach turns when I see the 1st "back to school" sign in the store, or see/hear the 1st back to school commercial! UGH! I guess even after being out 20 years I still get the back to school blahs!!! Seems like just yesterday...
Holiday! I feel the same way and I graduated HS 36 years ago! I guess the "feeling" never fully goes away, it just slowly gets more muted.
(Hey! We have something in common to talk about at the 'Pines today over that tall glass of sweet southern iced tea!)

Good Morning, Christmas Neighbors!

Let's get straight to the count, because we are down to:
ONE WEEK until the 100-Day mark to the Season!
Days to the Season: 107
Days to Christmas Day:149
Like the Energizer Bunny, we just keep going and going and......

A bit cloudy here today with rain likely by this afternoon.
We had a storm here yesterday evening with lots of wind, rain and thunder.
No trees down in my area but a few branches fell.
(I love these free nature shows, as long as nothing comes through the roof, that is!)

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!
And a Happy Hump Day as well.
(That latter greeting is courtesy of Carl)

Good Wednesday morning, everyone!

I had a great supper at my in-laws last night. Tomato sandwiches and boiled peanuts! It's probably just a southern US thing, but you can't beat a good tomato sandwich with some mayo and salt & pepper...mmm, mmm, mmm! I'm hungry again!

I hope you all have a great day!

We've got another cool morning here in St. Louis. This July has been the nicest I have ever experienced in my life. They expect a high of 80 today! How lovely is that?

I do have a long list of things to do and appointments to go to today, but in all honesty, I just want to curl up on the couch, listen to Christmas music and make wonderful holiday plans. I guess the closest thing to that is go to work and make money so that I can do that in November for my Branson trip. Sigh...

Have a great day everyone!

I'm getting impatient for Friday, because once August is here, I can finally think "right, final month of summer". September= autumn in my book. September is when I start gathering up the pennies and pounds for my fund to buy things for my parents. September also equals preparation to go back to Uni in October, and October is Halloween, and darker evenings, and colder weather, and the Uni term is just another name for countdown till December in my eyes.

I don't think I paused once in that sentence. Ah well. Conveys my gibbering tendency perfectly :yahoo:

Good Wednesay morning everyone!

It's another day of overcast skies and the probability of thunderstorms with the guarantee of more rain here in Ottawa. What a surprise! At least there will be some warmth rather than unseasonably cool rain we have been getting for most of the summer.

The fact that it is only one week until we reach the 100 day milestone is fantastic! Notice I didn't get ahead of myself this time?! I hope everyone enjoys their Wednesday and the fact that we are continuously getting closer to the weekend as well. Have a good one!

Hello everyone,

A wet one here! It has been raining all day and the river is getting VERY high :-? This could mean flooding! 2 Years ago about this time in the year everywhere in Gloucester flooded. We were without water as the flood water flooded the water treatment plant and firemen were fighting to save the power-station and thankfully they did. The council put out big bowsers of water and they say 60% of all homes in Gloucester were flooded. Thankfully we were not but, it was 3 inches away from the front door! I hope this is not a repeat of 2 years ago :?

Thanks
Harry

I LOVE boiled peanuts!!! :) Our neighbor at the lake was born/raised in Alabama & they bring boiled peanuts back with them when they go home to visit! They introduced me to them a couple years ago & I really like them! They keep some in their freezer & every once in awhile on a Friday night they will pull some out! YUM!! My hubby curls his nose though! Lol!!

Happy Hump Day everyone!!!! It's a little dreary at the peak this morning, but looking good into the weekend!!! Be sure to check out the view!!! Hello to Crown who is enjoying his sweet tea while I sip on my house blend coffee!! :-D

Make it a great day!!!!

You have excellent taste!

My father's family is in Buffalo, NY. On their last visit down here, we had a low country boil (new to them) and we had boiled peanuts for a snack before supper. They had never even heard of boiled peanuts, and thought we were saying BALD peanuts. Our southern accents, I guess.cheesy Anyway, they all HATED the peanuts, but loved the low country boil. I guess we can call them half-country, anyway.

Oh the rain, the rain! It's been raining since about 6 am and at times it has really come down hard. It's raining pretty steady right now. Thankfully it had nearly stopped just in time for me to leave the grocery store and get home to unload my car! Oh how I hate rain. I'm just kicking back, on my laptop and watching a Roseanne marathon on Oxygen! I love that show. Hope you all have a good day today.

I hope you don't get flooded. I hate the rain. Good luck to you.

Welcome Wednesday! Rain rain everywhere. Even in London! Almost August too! Well back to work I go. Have a great day!

I generally like darker, rainier days instead of heat and sunshine, but I do hope this clears. I'm doing a car boot sale tomorrow...
