Christmas Countdown - 2010

The grandkids will be here shortly and my busy week begins. I hope I have the energy to keep up with them! cheesy

Well it is going to another warm day here at 85 but then they are only calling for highs in the 70's for the next 3 days. It is going to be a busy day here. Mom goes back to the surgeon for a check up this morning. I am sure that he will want her to do more therapy but it would be nice if he would let her go back to work. he orginally told her should would be off for 8 to 10 weeks and we are now going on week 16. Then I have a few errands to run this afternoon. My face is still a bit swollen this morning but it is not as bad as yesterday. I am still not sure what caused it but it is getting better with the benadryl so I am going to assume it was some kind of allergy. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been up since 5AM, my older son decided he didn't want us to sleep anymore at that point, he is in a wretched mood today. My younger son slept until 8:30, he never sleeps past 7, if they could just sleep in on the same day we wouldn't be so tired. Another B-day party come and gone yesterday, but with more aggravation. The friends who through the party called us 30 mins. before we were to leave to go to the party and said "we didn't buy the hamburgers yet can you pick them up for us" normally it is not a big deal but they do this for every party, where they rely on us or someone else to pick stuff up for them, and they planned this party 2 months ago. My wife was too nice and told them we would but I was miffed that we had to do it again. Went to one store they didn't have any burgers left at that point so drove to another store. I am sorry I am just venting, just frustrated.

I am working a new shift for the next four weeks. Busy busy! William thinks now every small animal is a kitty. He pointed at a squirrel and said Kitty. Saw a picture of a mouse and said Kitty LOL Have a great monday ( or as great as it can be ). !!

Your frustration is understandable !!! Dont appologize for venting !! That is what Christmas friends are for !!! Try to have a great day !!! I would find that frustrating too.

I LOVE Mondays - fresh start to the week and the house to myself Lots of stuff to do and since I only slept a few hours this morning I'm making some headway on my to-do list. Yay!! Sometimes it's not so bad not being able to sleep

Good afternoon, everyone!

A little humid in Ottawa today. Chances of thunderstorms throughout the day, but we'll see if they actually amount. I had a meeting for a couple hours this morning in regards to a project that I have to take over for a few months at work. It should be interesting. Thankfully, I was able to sit there and not say a whole lot.

Anyway, I am pretty sore today. As if a seven hour drive yesterday was not enough, doing it after playing for about eight hours on Saturday and six on Sunday will certainly take a toll on the body. I'm glad that I was able to play a lot and still have no major injuries. The hamstring feels great and I hope that I can finally play without having to wrap it in Prague.

There's so much I need to do this week to get ready and so little time. It's unbelievable how fast this has come! Right now, I'm more nervous for finding time to get everything together rather than the plane ride. Perhaps I should write everything down so I don't forget...

Have a great Monday, everyone!! The work week is here but there should be plenty of reasons to celebrate. July 1st is Canada Day and then the 4th of July will cap off the week for everyone in the U.S. Hard to believe we'll be in July on Sunday! That next milestone (2/3 to the Christmas Season!!!) is only 16 days away! Incredible!!

In the hospital tonight, keeping watch over Mom. She has been in the hospital seven of the last nine weeks -- a tough stretch. She is afraid to fall asleep but I promised her I would stay awake and listen to see that she is still breathing. I'm pleased to say that Mom still has the same snore I remember from when I was a child and it gives me a measure of comfort here tonight.

All the best to your mom, Jeff. Great to know that you are with her.

I have cataract surgery on Thursday this week so any prayers will be gladly accepted. It is a minor surgery and I am on the young side for it but still a little apprehensive.

Hooray! My friend finally booked us a coach on the City Night Line train from Prague to Amsterdam on Saturday, July 10th! It should be a nice trip. It's overnight, which means that we obviously will not see a lot of the areas, but it provides us with a place to sleep while traveling. Definitely the most convenient factor. A 16 hour train ride should be fairly nice, especially after playing in a six day tournament.

Now, we're only three days away from leaving and everything has been booked. This includes the hostels in Amsterdam. We cut it a little close, but it's all done now!!

Your friends sounds like my sister. She can plan a party for months and will forget to get at least one thing. Then we always have to run to the store or my aunts house to get it for her at the last minute. :-?

Well the surgeon said mom is doing great and is letting her go back to work starting next monday. All of the tendons are still in place and he is happy with how much strength she has been able to regain in the last 5 weeks. He's not even making her do more therapy. She knows it is going to be rough the first couple of weeks since she is on her feet all day at work but I think she is going to only work 6 hour days next week to slowly build her way back into it. So finally things may get back to normal around here.

I most certainly will!! It should be quite the experience. I have not been on a train for a few years! I'm hoping that I am awake and able to see a glimpse of my German homeland. It sucks that we will only be traveling through it but there isn't enough time for the group. I'll have to return someday and see where my ancestors moved from in the late 17th century!
