All this being discouraged about running and guess what? I hopped on the treadmill this morning and ran 1 and half miles! It is a huge accomplishment for me. I have been trying to reach at least 1 mile non stop running for some time now and can only seem to reach a half mile then go back to walking. I actually made it to 1 mile and still felt great so I kept on running. I am so happy!

That is great, C-A-H - congratulations!!

Good afternoon, everyone. It is time for me to get off the computer to get ready to travel about an hour away for an installation and dinner tonight. I hope y'all have a wonderful evening. Congratulations to CAH for accomplishing a goal and for winning a major award!

With this post, Bradmac was poster #7,300. Congratulations! Your prize of nicely folded, unused Kleenex will be on its way to Georgia shortly!!
Sniff, sniff. Uh oh! Better send it air express!

Hello everyone!

I am sitting at the Jacksonville airport, waiting for my flight to arrive. On one hand I am ready to get back home to my boyfriend and our animals...on the other hand, I nearly cried hugging my best friend and her fiance goodbye. It really sucks that she lives so far away and we really only get to see each other twice a year (probably three times this year because of their wedding). But I had a great 8 days, even if we didn't get to do everything we set out to (stupid weather!!!!!).

Yesterday was the first nice day since the first day I was here (when we went to the comics convention in Orlando), so we did a lot of outdoor stuff. Gainesville has a thing called a planet walk, where they have statues that represent the sun and the planets, and it's true-to-scale form, and it was totally awesome. We then went around the University of Florida and other parts of G-ville we hadn't been to yet.

Last night, we went to a popular club called the Vault, and it was pretty awesome. Had a good time dancing and taking random pictures. :) It was a good way to end my vacation.

This morning was spent packing up, trying to find places for my ten cans of boiled peanuts (no making fun, everyone else in my life already has, lol!) as well as everything else I bought. I nearly had a heart attack trying to find my mp3 player (I can't travel without it), but eventually found it. Of course we got to the airport in enough time and had the nearly tear-inducing hug goodbye. I will really miss her, but I'm completely excited that the next time I see her (or possibly not, if they come up to visit this summer), she will be getting married! =D

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I have to get up at 5:30 tomorrow morning to work both jobs! How's that for ending my vacation? :-?

I don't know why I put this countdown ticker at the bottom for 5k race. I train 3-4 days a week but just can't seem to reach my goal to run a full race. I do searches for various forums of people training and most complain that their legs give out. My legs never give out, my oxygen level is what zaps me and I can only run so far. I am thinking that it's because I had asthma as a child. I heard you can have some permanent damage to the lungs due to this. I guess it will take more time than expected to reach my goal.

I am a little discouraged but I can't give up. Must keep moving on! cheesy

You seem very young to me! =)

Me too !!! xo

Good afternoon Christmas family

Not a lot going on right now. We had a lot of things to do today, grocery shopping, went to Old Navy and cashed in my gift cards, then went on a trip scouting out a new feline child, which we did not adopt. It is not quite the right time. When it is time, I will know. That sounds funny but I will know.

Weather is chilly here. I am sitting in front of the fireplace typing this. Wishbone is at my side up against me as far as he can be. He is getting so old and I worry about him. He has been with me through so many rough times....such a sweet little guy. But they all are.

I changed my avatar and my signature as at this time of the year for me I feel I MUST do something outwardly to acknowledge our Lord and all He has done for me . Though it is a minute gesture, until after Easter, He will be my avatar and my signature. It is the least i can do.

I am looking forward to tonight. Just going to get snuggled in, in my room and probably watch Harry Potter. Not sure which one I will watch. I love them all. I "escape" to Hogwarts regularly except when I am "escaping" to Narnia.

Have a wonderful Saturday Christmas family, love you all each and every one.....xo

Hey, I won't poke fun at you. Around here, we make whole meals in the summer out of boiled peanuts! cheesy

Time for some Basketball. Go BUTLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Saturday afternoon everyone! I've had a long weekend so far. Yesterday evening we went to the visitation for my friend that passed away. She was so well loved and we had to wait in line for 1.5 hours to get in the door to see her. This morning was the funeral. It has been a very draining but very touching weekend to see so many people pouring out their love for this family. In the midst of so much pain, though, there was still such a message of hope.

Tonight I have my three nieces and nephews over for a sleepover. We're about to make rice krispie treat Easter eggs and then grill hotdogs for dinner. Hopefully they have fun and I don't end up wanting to pull my hair out LOL! Wish me luck!

Thanks for everyone's encouraging words!

I guess I started whining too soon. Right after I posted I reached one of my goals in running!

Thanks again!

That's awesome news. And thanks to you I have started running again. Not training for a marathon but I'm certainly improving my health.

Well I got the new radiator installed in my truck and I defintely have a blown head gasket. Now I am just hoping that is all it is.
I hope it all gets fixed and not cost too much.
It probably is!
I just love your prizes and looking forward to my 8 track! =)

I won't make fun of you. I LOVE BOILED PEANUTS! They just don't sell them here and if I travel somewhere I stock up. Once in awhile a store here will carry them and then just stop. :-?

It makes sense to wait until you're ready for a new fur child. It's so hard to lose one in the first place and takes time to get a new one.

I am jealous of you for having boiled peanuts! Does your father in law sell cans at his store? My favorite brand is Roddenberry. (I think it's how you spell that).

Awesome! Send me a message anytime if you want to chat about running. It keeps me motivated to talk about it. cheesy

And Indianapolis goes wild!!!!!!!!!! Butler's going back to the NCAA championship game for the 2nd year in a row!!!!!!!

Well, I managed to screw up the rice krispies LOL!! But the kiddos are having fun over here anyways. We're watching Monsters Inc. before they all head to bed. We got donuts for breakfast tomorrow morning before church. Since we've survived the night, the next challenge will be to see if I can get 4 kids ready for church in the morning - its a struggle each week to get my ONE kid to church on time.

I got my bid on remodeling our bathroom in this week and it is right at the top of our budget. So we are going tomorrow to make some choices of fixtures and hope to schedule the project for the end of April or early May. I'm SOOOOO excited!!! Only problem is - we're a one bathroom kind of house. So our toilet will be out of comission for 1 day and the bathtub out for 2-4 days. Should be interesting.

I'm thinking a lot about Christmas these day. I have this strange urge to watch the yule log dvd LOL. My sister got it for me as a joke I think this last Christmas - but I really like it hahaha. I don't have a fireplace so this helps to give me that comfy, cozy feeling. Does anyone else use/watch that dvd? Thank goodness this countdown gives me hope that in only 267 days, my family will not roll their eyes if they knew I was watching it!
