Good evening,

Yep, vacation is here, I already took one catnap after work today. I look forward to sleeping in a little. Not much planned in the beginning of the week, just a lot of relaxing.

Have a great night!

Well, when I got home the wifey said she needed me to run to get some dog food and eat. Well, she lied. She wanted me to have the umbrella, table, and chairs. I'm sitting outside as I type watching the birds. I've got at least 3 batches of babies in my houses and around 20 adults. It's great! Love that woman!

That was extremely nice of her.

Hubby and I just finished dinner: Asiago mashed potatoes, herbed gravy, corn, tri-tip marinated in Jack Daniels hickory smoke sauce. It was delish! Hubby used the rotisserie on the grill. Hope everyone has a great evening!

Brad, the deck at my house was built before I got here. It has no sealer on it. I'd say it's about two or three years old. Should I put some on it?

Well I'm not Brad but I will way in. We always sealed the decks we built at the boy scout camp. We would wait about a month after we finished building the platforms and then seal them. We would then reseal them every couple of years. I would say if water is soaking into the wood and not just rolling off of it, I would put some on it.

Do you have any leftovers????

Wow! I was just about to kid around with you and asked if you visited her while in Hawaii! I noticed she lives there. I didn't know you knew her. That's great!

Did you already mention about knowing her in an earlier post and I missed it?

I've probably mentioned it TOO often! She's one of our favorite subjects. We've been collecting her films for years; then we got to know her a few years ago when we were writing her biography, and we've been close friends ever since. We've been trying to visit her once a year since her sister passed away and she moved to Hawaii to live with her son. Here's a video that'll give you an idea of the films she made.

Yum yum! Any leftovers?? (Ha, Made beat me to the same question while I was typing!)

My 4 day weekend is here! It is much deserved. With my new position at work, I'm always doing tons of things at once!
enjoy!

This afternoon, I got quite a surprise. As I have said before, I love watching Martins and have several houses in my yard. I've been wanting so bad to have a porch table with an umbrella and a few chairs to sit outside and watch them on the deck. I have a swing, but just having that on the deck wouldn't look good. That is great! I read so much on here but still manage to miss a lot of post. We are a busy group here! =)

Good morning!

Happy Canada Day!

Today is going to be in the 90s w/a slight chance of thunderstorms. I am working from home today and if things work out, I will be taking a shopping trip and going out to lunch with some friends.

Have a great day and stay safe!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning.
Good Friday Morning!
Good Fantastic Friday Morning!!

Yes, it doesn't get much better than Friday, does it?
Unless it could be this, of course:
Days to the Season: 135
Days to Christmas Day: 177
Under 2 weeks now until Milestone #11, the 2/3 mark to the Season.

We have started at 68 for the 2nd morning in a row but this time we are bound for the 90's again with mid-nineties for the weekend.
No matter. We will be in the mountains of Virginia where it should be cooler.
(Although I have noticed that higher elevations are no guarantee of lower humidity!)

Well, Ballcoach. I have received no further volunteer notices to take over the count for the weekend so I guess you're it again. Thanks!
(I know you will hit a home run!)]

May your Friday be Fabulous and your Weekend be Wonderous, Everyone!

Wow that's amazing :) what else have you written?

Not much, myself---a few video reviews for a magazine in the 1990s, a few blog entries, a couple of podcast segments. Mr. has written a few books on subjects related to vintage movies.

That is great! I read so much on here but still manage to miss a lot of post. We are a busy group here! =)

So true. I've given up on catching up with all the posts while I was away!

Sorry it took so long to get back! Made is right. You need to give the new wood time to dry out and change to the color you like, then seal it. re-apply every year or two.
